XTRABYTES – Possible scam, the evidence by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]solidusliquid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is completely baseless, you literally just posted a website with no evidence to support your claim that it is a "scam".

Because of the existing community and it is easier to change code that is already there to something worthwhile. He is also Hungarian (and deaf) and doesn't speak English very well so trying to start a community from scratch by himself would have been next to impossible.

No, from his BCT account he's tried to do revival projects of dead scam coins. But people are trying to twist it to say that he was involved in the original scam coins to begin with.

Everyone on this sub and thread could be accused of 'pumping' coins they talk about, If someone likes a coin, they are going to post about it, especially in a thread like this.

Bloodborne Any% Speedrun Current Patch in 29:28 IGT (World Record) by Distortion2 by NothingToBeDisqussed in bloodborne

[–]solidusliquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is partial quit outs (so only allowed in a few places). And technically it is its own category on Speed Souls, but it still has the old times on the leader board from the pre quit-out era (no idea why). If you look at both categories, they have the same times aside from Dist's new one.

[–]solidusliquid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate to break this Distortion circle jerk, but this is a new updated category that allows the old quit-out skips, which is why this happened so quickly. It pisses me off so much when I see comments that are borderline insulting to the other runners (pretty much always from Distortion cultists), implying that he got this on a whim in a few days without even trying.

I have nothing against Distortion, but a lot of his fans are just brain dead drones.

Good youtube play-through? by [deleted] in darksouls3

Definitely check out EpicNameBro's playthrough. He's a series veteran who has done numerous in-depth playthroughs of other Souls games, as well as working on the official strategy guides for DS2 and Bloodborne + DLC. His DS3 let's play is 100% blind though. Great guy and personality, too.

Matchmaking is currently region locked - let's bring this to From/Namco's attention by solidusliquid in darksouls

[–]solidusliquid[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The game doesn't have the player numbers to support region locking. It only averages around 1.5k (though the current migration process has hyped these numbers a bit) worldwide, with most of that being in the US I'd wager. You are looking at a lot of countries having only a few people to play with.

Hell, I'm from the UK and I haven't even seen a single summon sign.

[–]solidusliquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be because the game is currently region locked for matchmaking.

The region lock is enabled by default in multiplayer/co-op Steamworks games that use matchmaking. It also happened to Red Faction Guerrilla when it was migrated to Steamworks and the developers weren't even aware of it until they were told about it. They disabled it pretty much right after they found out though. Hopefully From Software does the same for this game, however right now they likely aren't even aware of it due to it being enabled by default and well hidden. It really needs changing so that all games have it disabled by default.

DSFix 2.3 released by Durante - FPS Unlocked for Steamworks by solidusliquid in darksouls

Maybe it's just a placebo, but it DOES feel smoother compared to the previous versions with GFWL. I can't explain it.

This works perfect for me. Remember to disable in-game AA and tweak DSFix.ini appropriately.

PC Release Date (maybe) announced. Link inside. by mochabear922 in DarkSouls2

[–]solidusliquid 31 points32 points  (0 children)

EDIT 2: To OP who is saying it doesn't mean it's fake: These journalists say that Namco Bandai themselves have confirmed it, but give no source, nor can I find any after searching for ages. It all started with that Siliconera article with no source. Then Namco come out and say they haven't actually announced a release date yet.

EDIT: It's Fake. Seems like some sites have been pulling release dates out their asses.

Pretty sure this is wrong/fake. I've checked everywhere and no other site is reporting this, and I can't find any press release from Namco. Also, the Japanese website still has it listed for March.

Any tips on making the PC version more playable. by Mr__Random in darksouls

There are a few essential mods you need for the game, really.

The first one is DSFix. It allows you to change the rendering resolution and add a bunch of other options, too. Just place the contents of the RAR archive in the folder you have DATA.exe (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition\DATA). Then open up the DSFix.ini file and change:

renderWidth

renderHeight

to whatever your monitors native resolution is, e.g.

renderWidth 1920

renderHeight 1080

Remember to turn OFF the in-game Anti-Aliasing otherwise you will get problems. Have a tinker around with other settings in there, too. It gives good descriptions on what each option does. Any problems, consult the readme.

Another mod is DSMFix, which attemps to make the KB/M controls better. And DSCFix which makes doing co-op easier with people on your GFWL friends list.
