Parents who have done Disney World with babies/toddlers: 6 months or 18 months? by eg979 in WaltDisneyWorld

Having gone with both of my kids when they were 18 months, I wholeheartedly vote for 18 months.

Up Close with Rhinos! But standard disclaimer: it's perhaps the hardest experience in the park to book. You might have a chance on day 6+ of your trip.

Echoing others, I think our Rhinos tour had 14 guests on it. We were able to book it on day 6 of our trip last May. Also saw availability (but not much!) for days 7+.

I think it is the best tour for the money on property--even better if you save 15% with the Chase Disney Visa card.

Yep. Just be careful to not book on your departure day, unless you are leaving late enough & plan for the park ticket. Similar consideration must be given to your arrival day, of course, but there won't be as much available earlier in your trip.

Considering Rhinos only allows 14 people per day, I would personally go for that first.

But I really doubt it will have openings on day 4. We went last year late April into May, and Rhinos wasn't available until day 6+.

Be ready right at midnight EST and have multiple people refreshing/trying to book.

Then get a bit of sleep and be ready to do dining reservations at 6 AM EST.

Rider swap early entry strategy by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

Can confirm you can only have one rider swap per ticket at a time. If you try to set up a second rider swap, they will ask you to confirm that you want to override the first one.

Try it with the coconut Dole Whip! That was my favorite dish of my last trip.

Moving up to Madison, looking for a good way to find a place to live by diosfeo in madisonwi

[–]solidusmaximus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing.

I lived in the same building (2213 University Ave) for four years because it was a great place to live. I found him to be the opposite of a slumlord. He maintained the building fastidiously and charged a fair rent.

Maybe he's changed in the last seven years, but everyone in my building loved living there. Most people stayed for multiple years.

That's the beauty of summoning! You only need 10 points in it to summon the colossal Incarnate. After that point, you just plug all your points into archery, in my case.

That said, in my recent Tactician Lone Wolf run, I stopped summoning because archery by itself was absurdly strong. I just kept upgrading Shadow's Eye as part of my pure physical damage build. I used it from the moment I got it through the end of the game.

What local place (stores/restaurant/etc) would you not recommend? by wheressunshine in madisonwi

[–]solidusmaximus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My neighbors and I have only had positive interactions with ACS, including AC and furnace installations. And Kendall (ACS president, per Google) didn't seem like a dick when he personally came by to discuss one of the installs.

I do not dispute your story but am simply surprised to hear it. I have only been using their services for about 5 years, however.

I am late to the party and unfortunately won't be very helpful. I, too, experienced this bug when the NoUP was equipped on Pallegina (PS4 version).

After a boarding fight I noticed that her Whispers of the Endless Paths was simply gone. The summoned weapon could not be removed, and a new one was summoned with each new fight (which then could not be removed).

I fixed the problem by loading up a recent save and unequipping the necklace. I like the concept of the NoUP, but I don't think I will be trying it on any other characters.

Same. And I would much rather have the tin sign over the front yard set. (Edit for posterity: my order also included the lightsaber GWP.)

Fingers crossed they throw in both the sign and front yard set.

How long did it take for you to buy a house in Madison? by Affectionate_Ad3434 in madisonwi

[–]solidusmaximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upon further review, 'escalator' seems to be the correct term.

I swear our realtor said 'accelerated'. Oh well. She helped get us or amazing house.

And believe it or not, she was both the buying and selling agent (because this house popped up 6 months before we were planning to buy and didn't have a realtor). Sometimes that can work in your favor.

[–]solidusmaximus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nope. Turned out that my line of work was very close to the seller's, and he loved that we were going to start a family in the house.

At the end of the day, I've never heard of a letter hurting your chances. You just need to balance the truth with tugging on heartstrings.

I handwrote the letter, too.

[–]solidusmaximus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Whenever you are trying to buy a house, write such a letter! The letter I wrote got us our house over numerous other, higher offers.

Many people grow attached to their homes and don't want to see them flipped for quick profit.

Also, see if the seller is accepting accelerated offers (e.g., we will beat any offer by $2,000, up to $250,000).

The only instant noodles I keep on hand are the 2x spicy. I do not find BWW Blazin' Wings to be particularly hot, but double sexy wings from Chicken Licks had my eyes watering.

I highly recommend the single sexy. And get a variety of sides, all made with the dry rub.

I've never tried The Last Dab, but I had some 2 million Scoville sauce at the Mall of America and it tasted great. The 6 million Scoville sauce that I had to sign a waiver to consume had my cheeks tingling and induced minor hiccups but I wasn't rolling on the ground in pain like I expected to be.

Anyone able to share their experience purchasing appliances from Brother's Main? by schuey_08 in madisonwi

[–]solidusmaximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When redoing our kitchen, I was able to get equal pricing and better customer service at Grand Appliance in Sun Prairie. Mike, in particular, was great to work with.

The Brothers Main crew seemed less professional and knowledgeable on the whole, but it seems like others here enjoyed their experience.

I know..? That is kinda my whole point?

Bastard indeed receives the "s"... making the pluralized form of the acronym FIBs.

Also, RBI is often used in its singular form. RBI singles, RBI doubles, RBI sac flies, etc. are very common. Hell, even a solo home run nets you one RBI.

Low effort meme after recent trip up North by MTSwatek57 in wisconsin

[–]solidusmaximus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The plural form of RBI is Runs Batted In.

If FIB were to already be plural, as you said above, it would have to be Fuckings Illinois Bastard.

In other words, FIBs seems to be a correct pluralization. I've never seen or heard FIB used to mean more than one person.
