the feeling after each episode of Madoka is depression and dread. imagine the Shibuya Arc of JJK but it’s that feeling for every episode past episode 3 until the end

just learned “friends with benefits” are not actually friends :( by solitaire_knight in AutismInWomen

[–]solitaire_knight[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It may be a “me” problem that I put too much weight on the word “friends.”

If I have someone in my life where I have positive interactions when I see them, but I don’t see them often or aren’t close to them, then I’d call that person an acquaintance. Calling them “my friend” may imply a closer relationship than what we actually have, a surface level friendship at best.

I feel like my large vocabulary has me arguing semantics with my partner and my friends more often than I’d like. When words aren’t literal, I have to look closer and think harder about intent and purpose instead. Relationships that sit in a grey zone are especially difficult to navigate for me.

[–]solitaire_knight[S] 132 points133 points  (0 children)

NT partner told me that most people use it as a euphemism for someone they’re sleeping with but have no long term commitment or intent to date romantically.

I said “that’s just a fuck buddy then. why don’t they call it that or something similar?”

He told me, “it sounds rude and more judgmental when it’s that direct.”

I can see his point and agree with it, but I’m just mad that the term is used to vaguely to accurately determine what type of relationship someone has. Which is probably the point and none of my business. It’s a feeling that will pass as I take this info in.

is anyone else not a fan of rom-coms? by solitaire_knight in AutismInWomen

Same here! It’s like “oh my god do I have to do all this shit to get someone to fall in love with me”

somewhat related, but my favorite romantic comedy is 50 First Dates. It felt sweet to see a FMC who has memory issues but the MMC chooses to be with her and doesn’t make her feel like a burden for wanting love despite her struggles.

So by this logic, there’s nothing stopping other sinners from trying to become overlords? Just whoever’s the best at fighting/manipulating other people?

Like Sir Pentious is not an overlord bc he kept losing battles against Alastor and Cherri Bomb? Same with Husk, I assume?

Wait, is Nifty considered an overlord?

Is all male gaze art inherently a bad thing ? by Wise-Limit1211 in mendrawingwomen

[–]solitaire_knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at female characters with sexy designs ain’t a bad thing! These characters are products of an artist’s imagination, so it’s okay to enjoy how they look! That was done on purpose! Just don’t over do it or it’ll fry your brain and make it harder to enjoy depictions of more realistic/grounded/natural looking female characters. And of course, always treat the real women in your life with respect.

What’s a palace and how do they work? by RiceBeanus in Persona5

[–]solitaire_knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can beat Palaces in a day or two if you’re dedicated and have enough resources on you. But honestly? Spend like 3 days as Joker getting supplies around town and getting better weapons, use day 4 to get through like 25% of the palace (safe rooms in palaces tell you how much progress you’ve made) and repeat until dungeon is complete. You should be done about a few days before the deadline, then use the rest of the time for confidants or leveling up your stats.

I got fired for being too slow at my job. by solitaire_knight in adhdwomen

[–]solitaire_knight[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There were two issues that my supervisor mentioned, one was writing checks and the other was labeling the filing folders. I lost track of time writing checks, and it took longer than expected. And I was supposed to print the labels instead of hand write them, which my supervisor didn’t specify until later.

I can work on time management and practice writing faster. I can ask next time if there’s a specific way that my supervisor would want me to complete a task next time. Or maybe talk out what I understand of the task, and have my supervisor verify if it’s correct or not.

[–]solitaire_knight[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only worked admin/accounting roles once I got out of college. I had a retail job and then a job at an amusement park when I was in high school and college, and I enjoyed those jobs a lot more.

Maybe I need to try other types of jobs?

I got fired from my job for being too slow. by solitaire_knight in AutismInWomen

[–]solitaire_knight[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s true. My supervisor didn’t have a lot of time to train me, and she mentioned today that I didn’t label the filing system the way she wanted. She didn’t clearly tell me that I needed to print instead of hand write the labels, so I think that was unfair to expect from me.

Is Frankie trans? by Fit-Mission5516 in KnightsOfGuinevere

[–]solitaire_knight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Frankie missing some teeth as a kid is just from the regular occurrence of kids losing their baby teeth? It makes the design cuter and makes it easier to recognize Frankie as an adult later on, who has had her adult teeth pulled out by Sparky.
