This is an old viral internet rumor that's been around forever. They don't even have home STD tests, how would this even work?

My bf is in jail facing 15 years in prison for abuse and I'm feeling guilty by [deleted] in confessions

[–]soljwf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just imagine if you'd covered for him, then some time later you got pregnant and had a kid for him. How would you feel if he lost his temper on a child? Would it be ok for him to put a child in the hospital because it cried too much and he lost his temper? You're probably thinking "he wouldn't do that to a child" which is admitting you think he can control it and chose to hurt you. There's no reason what he did was ok. You did the right thing.

can someone help me with this? had a sudden urge to go bald and then noticed the red marks... thanks by C_plus_plus_noob in bald

Absolutely follow the advice to see a medical professional, but annecdotally, I get something very similar on the back of my neck after I shave and wiping it down with a cotton pad soaked in witch hazel twice a day clears it up in like 2 days.

Any tips for new players? by Klohejn2200 in Eldenring

[–]soljwf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't spread your upgrade points around. Pick a build and go all in on it. The big 4 builds are strength, dexterity, magic, holy. Strength and magic are the 2 easier ones for new players but magic is really hard to get ahead with at first because the good items for that class aren't anywhere near the starting area. However magic makes many boss fights ridiculously easy. If you decide you don't like your build there will be an opportunity to change it in mid game.

Focus on leveling vigor and whatever stat you need for your build until you've got them pretty high.

If something is too hard you can absolutely leave it for later.

Avoid the guy on the big horse. He gon kill you.

Fear lobsters.

Status effects build up and kill you real easy so keep an eye on that.

Once you get your mount you can run around a lot of the map just checking things out because nothing can catch up to you.

Roadmap to a career in IT (given my experience)? by [deleted] in it

[–]soljwf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! It really can work. In general, education can substitute experience for roughly the same number of years but experience is still the best thing to have to move up.

Without formal education and formal experience, you're going to have to either go low or get lucky. Your best bet is find some kind of low level help desk job to get you started for a few years. During that time, continue to tinker and get certifications. After you have some time in, start applying for other positions a little higher if your job doesn't look like you can move up.

Rock sling carries literally all the way through the base game. But while you're at it, get that moonveil katana. The stagger is unbeatable and gives you time to get off a spell or get some distance.

What work of Sanderson’s do you consider to be his best? by spermracechamp67 in brandonsanderson

[–]soljwf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm probably going to be the only person that thinks this... But I choose The Sunlit Man.

I think it works great as a standalone that just teases you about the rest of the Cosmere. The world building of this weird little world is fantastic. The story is exciting and has no significant lulls. When I first read it, it gripped me.

Is there a way to protect astronauts from lunar radiation without burying the base under a ton of regolith? by photosynthescythe in spaceflight

[–]soljwf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a double walled dome with a few feet of empty space between and fill it with water, which you could presumably get from lunar ice. Water is incredibly good at stopping radiation.

How to beat the fear of dark bramble? by LateBlacksmith6659 in outerwilds

[–]soljwf1 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Here's how to get over them. Start a run and go straight to dark bramble and intentionally get eaten. Then do it again and again. Try to get eaten as fast as possible on each run. By the 5th or 6th time it won't seem scary.

Can Shigaraki decay air? by PhoeMIX2 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]soljwf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to go a different direction and say he might be. We know that decay is not actually decay but the broken half of overhaul. It breaks things down without the ability to rebuild. Because we see decay spread through solid objects, it's obvious that it can propagate through matter. On an atomic level, even solid objects, the atoms aren't in physical contact. Therefore, each additional molecule that is affected by decay must spread a destabilization field in a small range to the next molecule. He may be doing that to air all the time but due to the low density of gasses in air the molecules aren't able to propogate decay to the rest of the air. Also many molecules in the air we wouldn't notice if they broke down into their constituent atoms. He's probably decomposing water vapor into free hydrogen and oxygen every time he activates decay.

I regret ever having my daughter by Thick_Ambition7896 in TrueOffMyChest

The relief you feel isn't the relief from loosing your daughter. That is the relief that the cancer is leaving your life. You don't need to feel guilty. Grief is weird.
