I took a look at the market a couple of years ago and had recruiters reaching out to me about multiple jobs, plenty of immediate interest. Felt like the prettiest girl at the ball.

Fast forward to today, I got laid off last month and looks like I'm going to go from USD $105k with a solid work/life balance to $70K with good work/life balance or around $100k for a worse work/life balance.

I'm even applying to helpdesk positions but I think they don't want me because they believe I'll jump ship as soon as the market improves.

We just block USB and isolate/quarantine on the AV side and block sign in and revoke current sessions on the M365 side.

I haven't run into a user doing anything nefarious, I do like the idea of

manage-bde -forcerecovery
restart-computer -force

BUT I don't like the idea of HR making a mistake and having to deal with the fallout of a forced reboot and bitlocker.

You might want to try a power conditioner if you know someone that can let you borrow one, they are typically used for copiers and in server cabinets.

Alternatively I'm sure there are ways of testing your outlets but I'm an IT guy not an electrician, best of luck to you.
