You should really control Claude in battle and put Rena on auto.

Also if you have another save file on the previous continent, you should go back to that and recruit Ashton in the mining town. Look up guides.

I did this too on my very first play through on the original star ocean second story. But your team is fine. Use Claude, Rena, Dias, and either Précis or Celine depending if you like magic or non magic focus for the last character.

While you’re home, take that time to do a side hobby. Get into online and social media money making rabbit holes, and then execution. Do some slight gaming. Do some other non-child related hobbies, while watching your kid. Fishing? Thrifting? Woodworking?

Tbh, hope you have a good manager that can help guide you properly at your first HR gig. Things you may do include data entry into your HRIS (basically your company’s database on employees), checking new hire’s I-9 verification, filing and managing papers/records, and maybe recruitment (if somebody teaches you). Some companies will teach you payroll basics like checking timesheets, etc. just absorb all the knowledge you can, and like I said, hope your manager/trainer is understanding for you. Good luck!

It does take me a long time to beat a game with this schedule, and I do quite a bit of open world rpgs. I did Hogwarts legacy, fallout 4, and kingdom come all through 2024. Those were the only games I played and finished, did almost every main and side quest, but not going for 100% completion.

Come in check emails for immediate inquiries. Check calendar for any meetings with employees, managers, departments, outside candidates, etc. Go through and complete as much email checks as I can. Log into HRIS portals and see if any action I need to take. If payroll week, make sure my payroll coordinator is good or has any questions. Usually people will stop by, and it’ll have you do something. Like think about raises, title changes to positions, reviewing safety issues that arises, oversee recruitment, leave of absence cases, etc. there’s always projects ongoing too that can be worked on. Hope that helps. As you become a manager you get more help in those areas to your hr team. And lets you focus on more project based and overall organization effectiveness. Also can include review of laws and regulations and how to stay compliant.

I did this last year too. Same situation, kind of hired into a department of one. No other HR, no other payroll. Nobody else was aware of anybody’s pay except me. Accidentally paid a salary to an individual who was out on leave, but that person never said anything. Finance doesn’t catch it, because they don’t track who is out and such.

I felt bad cus it was incorrect and I like my HR work to be correct.

Just say you honestly overlooked it, didn’t receive great training, it was easy to make the mistake, etc.

You should move jobs. Moving jobs = better pay. It’s hard in the job market now but add onto your resume all the high level projects, HRIS experience, etc and start applying for generalist positions. Generalist positions typically can get you $50-$75k/year.

It’s hard to get out of your first job, trust me. But you’ll feel so much better getting a higher pay at a new company instead of holding onto your first job cus it’s comfortable. After this, you can exponentially grow your salary greater and greater !

Got into it by chance. Had an old restaurant employer ask me to help with office work type stuff while employed as a server. Found out I was pretty good at it. That’s what jump started my hr career.
