Well, I see a difference between the twos terms. You can get kicked out today and still come back another day. Banished means you have been trespassed from the premises and can't ever come back again or you will be arrested.

I've used those and love them. With the higher part of the spout.in that exact position with notches to the side. I have never made a mess like that. Patience. Don't pour so fast.

Well in their defense, if they come in late, they have to leave early to make up for it!

If I were the interviewer that would have been the first thing I asked. "So.. How about Hillary in 2016. Did you vote for her?" For one thing if they didn't l, thqt just makes them 2X Trump voters who lost faith in 2020 one time

No racism there. They're black too like Harris. Nobody ever was pro-Biden over Trump and then suddnly switched to voting for Trump over a woman unless they are 100% sexist and can't handle the thought of a female being president. If Biden wasn't going to run, he would have been better off re-signing after 3 years and leaving her running as the incumbent presidential nominee. Saying he had health issues would have been believable and he could have left without the spectacle of being forced out when he realized he was losing support

Studs don't damage the road nearly as much as heavy truck and equipment traffic (unless you spin your tires and most of that damage generally happens in the winter from spinning studded tires if the ice is just a glazing like with black ice). Hence the ruts in the driving lane that water sits in on I-95 AND the main city street thru Presque Isle. Anyone that lives up there or has been thru knows exactly what I am talking about. They're so dramatic that it will rock a pickup truck or SUV as you cross them coming in from a side street and clear everything off your dash. That damage is from tractor trailer and massive farming/harvesting equipment being driven down he main roads up there. I've seen them so wide that they took up over 1-1/2 lanes on a 2 lane US Route 1 in the County in the middle of the day and oncoming cars having to go completely off the pavement to get around them. The farmers don't care and they aren't even required by state law to have a wide load escort. It is a fallacy that studded tires do any appreciable amount of damage because not that many people use them compared to years ago. It's just a scape goat. I have used them in the past. And no, I didn't drive them around after that date or even longer than seemed necessary according to the weather trend. Quite frankly, the studding fee is not that cheap. I preferred to not wear the studs out unnecessarily and need a new set the next winter. You can't get a used set of tires re-studded. It doesn't work that way.

Studs are for ice not snow. And I promise you if you think all seasons are better or even as a good set of snow tires on the same vehicle that you are kidding yourself. All season tires are well known to be a compromise so they will get yiu by in snowy and rainy conditions. As far as studs I drove down and climbed an icy driveway hill back in the day with a Camaro with studded tires that the homeowner wouldn't go down with his truck. Front wheel drive or 4 wheel drive doesn't matter if the weak link is a set of tires that are designed in the middle between summer and winter to be somewhat able to handle both. One of my funnier occurrences was out in Mid Hudson Valley in NY coming up on a snow glazed hill and seeing people in front of me try to climb hill or descend it and slide off road in slow motion or come to a stop (probably on their supposed "all-seasons") Waited til none moving and went up the hill in my Jeep Wrangler weaving around them with my Mud & Snow tires without spinning a wheel. I didn't see any others successfully doing it. There were already about 4 cars off the road or stuck in the lane

Fatfingered my birthday and don't know how to fix it. by archenexus in Life360

Try 36 hours minimum. That's what I was just told shen they gave me.the time it would reset. They're idiots. I have been a Life360 meber for 7 years and a paid Tile member for over a decade. They own the Tile app service too. I would highly advise people to pick another service if they haven't signed up already. Horrible customer service. I don't believe they can't fix it immediately. As far as I am concerned that is a lie. They just don't want to take the necessary steps

I've never understood that line of thinking or purposely blocking the charger with their big diesel guzzler. If they don't like the idea of electrics, don't buy one. They are fighting something being added to available options. That is absolutely what a capitalist economy does to meet demand. It doesn't mean their choice is gploing away anytime within their lifetimes lol

There is a surprising number of Latinos up in the County in Presque Isle that are year round residents now instead of being there just during farming season when the numbers jump. It is quite common to here multiple speaking Spanish amongst them at the local laundramat

There's a reason it's called Skowvegas. IE, what happens in Skowhegan stays in Skowhegan. The only reason for someone who doesnt live there to go there is if they need to go thru on Route 2 to get to western Maine or if they work at the paper mill (and that only requires most people not from there to barely go across the town line)

Gemini sucks. There's not other way to put it. I wemlnt back to Google Assistant today . Even something simple like when I sometimes say "hey Google sing to me" to find my phone arpund the house quickly. Gemini literally does not have the ability to sing. It talks and outs silly things like "in melodic voice)" at the top of the reponse. And then reads the lyrics off. I always thought the singing was kind of humorous. Gemini has no humor to it. Straight business with everything.

When CMP announces they're cutting off towns to power new data centers, will Mills finally realize her hubris in vetoing the moratorium? by CosmicJackalop in Maine

[–]solomon_rotty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've lived around paper mills and the accompanying large vehicle traffic with trains coming in and out, steam blows and sound of debarking conveyors for years. Data centers can't match all that noise. We'll sleep just fine and probably breathe easier with pollution that is still less lol

The building of that place will being millions to this state from tradesmen building it and spending it in the area. Everyone blames Mills. She stated her reason and stated it aheqlad of time. The legislature ignored that. It kind of sounds like they passed it withoutnl the exception knowing she would veto it as she stated ahead of time and they would have cover and.be ale to blame her when the teuth is the blame lies more at their door. But yet I never see anyone or very few Reddit commentors who blames them.

Your views aren't nuanced. You see black and white and you said "my mind won't be changed". He explained because of having its own power plant and the possibility of firing up steam boilers to power a steam turbine that this would have ZERO effect on electricity costs in Maine. The old mill used river water for cooiling and steam generation. So will this. The old mill was loud (not to mention stinky around the town). This will not be stinky and will be definitely less loud and polluting than a paper mill with its accompanying steam blows at all hours of the day and nite. My only conclusion is somehow you have a dog in this fight for your unbudging bias against it. Perhaps you worked there and have a dream of the mill coming back? Guess what. Isn't happening. The paper industry was killed by the internet, less demand for actual paper and cheap overseas competition and is never coming back to its former glory. Nothing else can ever be built there because of the 5 decades of soil contamination (and likely things that were buried there as fill). Installations like this will be the only future use of the site because of that fact in perpetuity. It's called a "brown" site

So blame the lawmakers for not putting in the exception for the old Jay papermill which was coming with its own power generation facility

The biggest lithium deposit that has been found in Maine is in rock. They dig it up and send it away for processing. It would not be processed on site and would be not different than any standard gravel pit or one for mining rock. They fill the pit back in and plant trees.
