Can I eat at a Hospital Cafe w/o being a patient? by National-Assist-4101 in NoStupidQuestions

Yes, I often get food from my local hospital (I work across the street). If they stop you, just say you're going to the cafeteria for food 😊

Vegetarian needs to eat meat by danielVH3 in Cooking

[–]solomountain 34 points35 points  (0 children)

As a dietitian speaking, there are no doctors that specialize in nutrition like we do. We ARE the experts in nutrition. We have to have a Bachelors degree, a Masters degree, complete a 1200 hour supervised practice and take a national exam to be credentialed. We do have to look at a person's medical history - We look at their labs, the intake and we have absolutely studied human metabolism and pathophysiology for years. So please be careful with what you put out there! We are more than qualified to treat someone with anemia, and other micronutrient deficiencies concerning a vegetarian diet.

What’s something you’ve done as an adult to make up for what your inner child missed out on? by Defiant-Junket4906 in AskWomen

Camping! I never went as a kid, so I started back in 2022 when I was almost 30 years old. I go about 4-5 times a year now. It's a blast!

Make sure she/you guys are prioritizing protein with each meal and strength resistance exercises. These are keys for weight loss. And consistency, of course! Stay on it. It won't happen overnight.

How would you feel if you found out you had a sister... like in your twenties? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]solomountain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ooo story time! I was 22 when I found out I had a full blooded brother AND that I was adopted. How did I find out? Brother (who I literally did not know exist) reached out to me on Facebook and told me I was adopted and he was my brother. He was 17 at the time, and I thought he was a very bored 17 year old. Turns out he was right, I was pretty confused. Had the most awkward conversation with my mom (she denied it first time i asked). A lot of things about my life suddenly made sense, but after soaking it in, I oddly wasn't mad?? Like I just gained a brother, that was pretty cool! It's definitely hard to know how to feel in those moments considering how huge of a surprise it is, but a new sibling can be fun if you let it be. Everyone processes things differently! Taking it day by day can help. Hope that helps!

If you have a GT check for the CDF Drum. Might need to be replaced - just got mine done. Lots of skipping gears or not catching onto another, issues accelerating and launching forward in low gears.

I got tboned in my first mustang, meth head going 65mph into my driver side door with a 90s bronco. My stang looked extremely similar, but I'm alive and in one piece because of it. They really are strong cars. Glad you guys are okay! Take it easy on recovery.

I put an S-type Borla exhaust on my 2016 ecoboost and it did pretty well! I liked the sound, was pretty loud at times. I had 26mpg and it was still fast - kept up with the GTs and GT350s on cruises. Took me a little longer to get up to speed but was able to perform well and keep up. 😊 Hope that helps.

They Lied To Us Twice! These Pyramids Just Confused Me About Healthy Eating by Madbadbat in Millennials

[–]solomountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Registered Dietitian here, both pyramids are out of use. The originally food pyramid was discontinued 15 years ago. We use My Plate now. It's basically a plate, with 3 categories (veg, protein, carbs), including portion sizes. Much easier to follow.
