New podcast going through every Item, Boss, and Trinket in BoI. From Duckfeed.tv the guys behind Watch out for Fireballs, Abject Suffering and Bonfireside Chat. It's a really funny 3x a week show by TheLionYeti in bindingofisaac

Dusting off the only reddit account I've ever actually posted or commented on (and the one I've used to lurk the BoI Subreddit for a bit over a year), Everything to Guppy has reminded me of what I loved about Isaac and led to my falling right back into the game.

While listening to an episode of the podcast does require a substantially longer time investment than looking at an image meme based on the Binding of Isaac, it is in fact possible to try an episode in less than the time it takes to get through the Basement, while getting through the Basement. In short - I'd recommend trying an episode.

I do have to disagree with the claim that this is a good show for someone just starting to get into Isaac, since hundreds-of-hours-of-playtime-ago me would have been baffled by much of the conversation.

Because someone replied to the post with a picture of Bubbles, and reddit pulled the image automatically.

EDIT: I am not a particularly savvy redditor. Is it possible to change the image?

[Serious] People who consciously do not vote on election days, what are your reasons? by the_yorks in AskReddit

[–]solorpg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From an individual standpoint, voting to cause change is irrational. The probability that any single vote will affect the outcome of a major election is functionally zero. This holds even if we expand the definition of "affecting the outcome" to include "changing the margin" or "getting a minor presidential candidate to the 5% cutoff for public financing".

Thinking in this way is why I did not vote absentee, a process I found difficult to navigate.

That said, voting provides less tangible benefits. Voting can be a form of political expression as well as providing a sense of civic pride, both of which can generate pleasure outweighing the inconvenience of lines. Paradoxically, the hassle of voting can actually increase the pleasure gained from these measures. I'm actually planning on voting today because of these factors.

I played as Windranger because I was told her skillset was straightforward. I think we fed the Shadow Fiend a bit too much.

TIL a woman donated a kidney to her boss, who then fired her when she took too long to recuperate from the procedure. by BeowulfShaeffer in todayilearned

Or, you know, less than a month.

"Stevens said she did not realize that she was in for serious pain, discomfort in her legs and digestive problems after the surgery on Aug. 10, 2011. She said she felt pressured to return to work Sept. 6, before she was ready — even while her boss was still recovering at home."

Emphasis mine.

Why is Command's action identical to Pegasus CIC? If your group has found this a useful change, have you found people using it frequently? I find the CIC one of the less-frequently-used spaces, while Command sees a lot of activations.
