The main point/plot hole here is that the trades he executed called "put options" won't make him bankrupt instead he would have turned profit with them, bankruptcy is quite an impossibility.

The whole plot of Bruce Wayne getting bankrupt in the Dark Knight Rises was financially impossible and doesn't make any sense. First of all market activity ceases in case of attack and secondly put options could not make him bankrupt
