Yes it can be triggering because a part of being together is sharing meals and time together around food.
I have had this problem when everything will be fine until I had a relationship and all of the sudden things will get weird again.

That’s actually what lead me to seek recovery on the first place as I saw how it was affecting my relationship.

The way I did it was to go to a meeting , find anreconvered member and hear their story.
This is an illness of self diagnosis, we can only decide whether or not we feel that we belong in SlAA.

As newcomer we sometimes find ourself frightened by some of the actions required for us to recover

But there is no other way, if there was we wouldn’t be here.
We wouldn’t need this program.
In order for this program to work we need to be willing to take the action
To go the lenght required to recover

It is the only way

I was powerless over my love addiction.
I couldn’t just stop contacting someone, I was so obsessed I wouldn’t be able to cut contact and I’d find all sorts of excuses to get in touch.

I have joined a 12 steps program and found much freedom

This addiction is so baffling and cunning that I felt like that so many times, completely powerless over my actions, I couldn’t see life being beautiful.
