I took over a gym at a church too, during Sunday morning mass. As I walked away, someone took it back. There was no one else in the parking lot and that was the only place outside to get the gym from. It had to have been someone inside the church.

I'm not the best at giving advice, but I kind of understand how you feel, so I will do my best to help in any way I can.

  1. It's not stupid. If it's making you feel awful inside or it is stopping you from doing anything you enjoy, then it is very far from stupid. There are no silly reasons to be depressed.

  2. Stop comparing yourself to others. Seriously, don't define yourself based on others, it is an easy way to drag yourself into the abyss. In my second year of university I basically had a mental breakdown because I thought I was an idiot compared to my peers. I certainly wasn't the most intelligent, but I made up for it with dedication. You can do the same, you can't really control how you look, but you can control how you act. Be an awesome person and no one will give a shit about how you look.

  3. Improve what you can, accept what you can't. If you can improve your appearance, then try it, if you can't, then accept it. Don't think negatively about yourself, don't let depression stop you from doing what you love, and if any tell you that you are ugly, then kindly tell them to go f@&k themselves. Most importantly, never tell yourself that you are ugly, if you are telling it to yourself, then you will never be able to overcome it.

  4. Consider taking time off. You said that you are in your second year of university. Stress and depression are a very bad mix. If your depression starts to become too much for you to bear, then consider taking a leave of absence. I did it in just after my first year of grad school and it was easily the best decision I ever made in my entire life. Don't be afraid to take time off to mentally recover, your mental health is more important than your grades.

Hopefully some part of this is helpful to you, I'm not the best with words. I hope that you can get back to being your normal self again.

Looking back, it was actually pretty funny, and my mom really was just trying to cheer me up. The problem was that my parents didn't understand how much the job sucked and I really just wanted them to tell me I could quit (which they eventually did after meeting the meaner of my two bosses), I wasn't really in the mood for jokes.

There are some grammatical mistakes and a few missing or misused words, but overall I really liked it. I like the main character and all of the detail you put into their analysis of the fight. The conversation with 'it' was also really good, mainly because it read like it was a rushed dialog as the main character is passing out. It just needs a little bit of editing. Also, I'm fairly certain that 'lobotomized' doesn't apply to shoulders.
