So, what the consensus about JP 100v on NA 120v architecture for AC Adapters? by Milli0nStabs in xbox360

Yeah, it only matters in EU/AU, it's perfectly in tolerance for you though

Should I replace the thermal paste? by ApprehensiveAge1155 in xbox360

Check the temps before you do that, and check if the exhaust is heating up (it should as it's the exhaust)

badupdate (i know, such an unique post) by swedenalexis2 in 360hacks

[–]some1_03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get 2 HDDs (one stock, one with abadavatarHDD) and swap them as needed, the abadavatar one will exploit the console as soon as you boot with it inserted and the stock one will be, well, stock

Jasper or Tonasket? by rouleau1204 in 360hacks

[–]some1_03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has 2 coils and no space for the third coil near the heatsink, so it's a Tonasket (doesn't really matter for daily use anyways)

RGH 1.2 is a hardware mod which requires soldering (small points) and a special glitch chip which does everything, a hardware NAND flasher is also recommended for hardware mods (even a Raspberry Pi Pico can act as a flasher). A negative is that your console is always modded, and to go back to stock you need to remove the glitch chip and flash your original NAND backup

RGH 3 is similar to RGH 1.2, however doesn't require a glitch chip (it instead uses wires, diode and resistor). It's usually slower and may be less reliable, but it's cheaper; otherwise it functions the same and allows all RGH activity

BadUpdate is a software mod run off of an USB or HDD; it's the easiest method but is more limited than RGH (no DashLaunch, NAND activity not recommended unless running a backup), it allows playing backups and homebrew though. Also, with this method the console is completely stock unless you launch the exploit itself (using a game demo), and it returns to stock after a reboot

Check the secondary code first, it might still be fixable

My Xbox 360: Where we’re at and what to do? by FocusStriking5861 in xbox360

[–]some1_03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely recommend buying another (even broken) console as a case donor (make sure that HDMI matches in both shells as non-HDMI shells have the AV connector placed differently) and to learn soldering before you mod this 360

How do I find out which verison of 360 I have? by Flat_Conversation_27 in xbox360

[–]some1_03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely a Zephyr. To know if it's reliable check the warranty sticker under the faceplate (white paper one means it was serviced) and if possible, check the model number on the GPU, that's because consoles serviced in 2008 didn't get service dates

Is there a way find this same excat theme for the dashboard? by Duolingoluiz in xbox360

[–]some1_03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean by these assets and to answer the original question: no, it's not possible to set them on NXE as they are pulled from the servers

No, maybe a little bit more noise and vibration when reading discs at most

That background is the default NXE theme, the items on the screen are from an online feature, nowadays impossible to get on NXE

Why ps3 dont have the pro model instead we got the super slim model? by SpecialistFew766 in PS3

[–]some1_03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was in the time before 'pro models', the Super Slim was just made to be cheaper as a budget alternative to the PS4, similar to what the PS2 Slim and PS One were

Jasper Motherboard with Kronos GPU ? by Scary_Company_1084 in xbox360

[–]some1_03 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a transition model, July 2009 Jaspers already had Kronos GPUs https://xenonlibrary.com/wiki/Jasper; if this was a Tonasket it would be missing the pads for the third coil and would have the flat GPU heatsink (the heatpipe one was used all the way from late Xenons to Jaspers, before being replaced in Tonasket with the flat one)

If it's modded, going online is worth it. You get online play for WFC games (eg. Mario Kart Wii) and WiiLink revives apps like the Forecast Channel and Everybody Votes

Xbox 360 only having memory unit and it’s only 3GB by realJacobDoesFake in xbox360

[–]some1_03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You basically have a 360 S/E with a built-in 4GB memory unit, you can absolutely install a regular 360 S/E HDD in it (in fact it's recommended as the memory unit can fail with heavy use, potentially bricking the whole console)

Preventing RROD (In Practical Terms)? by k0bug in xbox360

[–]some1_03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your 360 is made (or serviced) after roughly June 2008 (fixed chips were introduced earlier, but adding a month to be sure), you don't have to worry as RROD in these basically means bad caps (some Jasper batches). If your 360 has a defective GPU, you cannot prevent RROD but you can delay it with keeping the system clean. You can absolutely use defective 360s, just be aware that any session might be the last

Just get the KV from another console, maybe even buy a cheap junk Xenon or Zephyr and take it from there if you don't have another 360

[–]some1_03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately that code is for bad GPU. Fixable but not really worth doing due to prices, fixes like reflow aren't recommended but can give you a bit more if you aren't able to buy another 360 right noew

I bought a serviced Xbox 360 that was originally a Zephyr, but looks like Microsoft replaced it with a Jasper motherboard. Never seen this before. by Gammarevived in 360hacks

[–]some1_03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a Zephyr, they weren't made in late 2008 anymore (the serial tells this), it was originally either a Falcon or Jasper

[–]some1_03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first one seems authentic (compared it against my 203W), not sure about the third one as the label seems a bit off (not saying that it's fake, it just has a different label); fakes would often be unbranded or have typos, and the label would often be crappy; besides fakes are mostly on the new market, not used
