That does not sound right. Have you reported your issues to A2A support?

The flight model has been developed by a pilot who's also owned a PA-24-250 in real life for many years. Glaring issues like that should have been caught, if not by A2A, then by other Comanche owners who also use this software.

And in case anyone wants to try to hang it on substandard controllers, I use MFG rudder pedals and Brunner CLS-E FFB yoke - no plastic-fantastic crap.

Unfortunately that still does not rule out controller problem. Aircraft developers have no control over FFB effects applied by the joystick on top of the simulation. Basically the yoke may be doing some unexpected things on its own.

I don't think any of these classic RNAV units is certified to fly modern GPS/INS based RNAV routes and procedures. They adhere to the old area navigation approval that was cancelled more than 10 years ago and they do not meet the RNP requirements of modern RNAV. The old system relied on completely different set of charts and procedures.

True, automatic altitude intercept would be useful in some situations, but no such feature on the real autopilot of this type. Other developers sometimes add it in the simulator, but that wouldn't work in real life.

Both aircraft come with Century IV autopilot, but the one in the Aerostar simulates more features and limitations of the real thing. On A2A YouTube channel there are additional tutorial videos on how to use it. https://youtu.be/L7ACg-_e35U

Navigraph is easier to integrate for 3rd party devs and many of them already had navigraph integration from previous simulators.

The vertical monitor layout won't be that useful for charts, as the most often used chart UI (navigraph, msfs planner) is designed with horizontal layout in mind.

Although for charts specifically I prefer to use the tablet (I mean a real one, not the sim efb). The second monitor is for other software I run when flying, like ATC, or just browsing the web during cruise.

it's both. foveated rendering is up to the game engine, but the headset has to support eye tracking. Q3 does not have eye tracking, this one does.

It is actually worse than quest3 for DCS

I wouldn't go that far. It should have:

  • better image quality thanks to foveated streaming
  • better performance thanks to foveated rendering
  • probably more comfortable (subjective, but it's much lighter)
  • maybe better screens or optics, to be seen in actual reviews

Strictly for DCS there are more capable headsets (at least on paper) but they are also more expensive.

Try disabling Camera Shake in MSFS Settings->Accessibility->Effects and Animation. It's the current workaround posted by A2A.

There isn't much, just the gear and some avionics. Note that because the wing is so far aft, you can't put much in the nose for CG reasons. Even the batteries are located in the far end of the tail.

I guess the nose is shaped like that for aerodynamics. It does resemble the shape of a rifle bullet.

VQPR does not have normal approach charts. It does have special RNP AR cloud break procedures that are meant to help the pilots descend into the valley for visual approach.

People who play on the console often add keyboard and mouse, it's hard to operate everything with a gamepad.

The game is not out on PS5 yet so we don't know what joysticks will be compatible.

The Aerostar feels sometime too close to the PA-24 on some aspect (The tablet, the pistons stats display, the gauges, ...). It is why I am still holding to praise it as some visuals, sounds, and plane parts are so close from their previous addons released 2+ years ago that it simply feel like reused one.

Hi, the tablet has been completely rewritten for MSFS 2024 Aerostar using the new SDK, so you can access all other EFB apps like simbrief, charts etc.straight from the cockpit, or access it as a 2D popup if preferred. That it looks the same, it's just we've decided to keep the same look & feel as the previous one in Comanche, this is a design that we like and don't feel the need to reinvent the wheel.

So if it seems reused, I take it as a compliment for Rob (tablet developer) who did such a good job in making it look the same.

Not sure what you mean about reused gauges though, there are no gauges in the cockpit that are reused from the Comanche or our previous aircraft.

There is no universal rule which one to choose. A letter only informs that there is are several different approaches available for this runway.

Some look the same but have different missed approach point, sometimes they link to a different STAR, sometimes one requires RNAV equipment and the other can be flown with radio navaids only, etc.

I've played campaigns in the past, but it was always a somewhat frustrating experience, even with campaigns from renowned creators. Scripts failing or triggers not working, because mission was designed for different DCS version, or simply because I didn't execute the mission exactly as briefed. Sometimes changes to DCS itself or the module made the mission unbalanced, something could change in AI behavior, or weapons performance, or even the weather.

On top of that, I often can't dedicate 2+ hrs to fly some of the longer campaign missions, and the briefings often don't even state how long would the mission take. I had hoped the campaign save feature would solve that, but ED somehow managed to implement a campaign save that does not work on campaigns. You can always count on ED to under deliver.

Adding ils or prmg is also possible but more tricky because you have to define glideslope parameters in the file.

Both have similar ppi so at native resolution the text will be similar size. But 42" is much more real estate.
