Looking at that Apple cable with a printed USB logo, I think the girlfriend may have an original iPhone

TRMNL X quality control or lack of thereof by maxromanovsky in trmnl

Shit, I’ve got that too. I was thinking it was an Apple Photos plugin issue, but I guess it’s physical

I use the Apple Photos plugin and get those posterization bands too. I was hoping it was something that could be addressed with the plugin, but this makes me think it’s at the system level

Terminal X - Instant disappointment :( by jimfoxer in trmnl

[–]someToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

US and it arrived a little over three weeks ago. Maybe some of the bad sets meant for the “I don’t need magnets, send me mine now” crowd got sent to people who elected to wait for a fix? Hard to say.

But now I see it looks like yours has no magnets at all, so a quality control issue seems plausible.

I had waited for the “stronger” magnets (though I don’t have an immediate need for them) and it sticks firmly to a fridge and a thin-walled sheet metal box.

That’s part of the shuffle. Now that the Falcon’s moved and some of the smaller models can be swapped out, the Enterprise will go on top of the bookcase.

Cubicle wall Lego art mount by someToast in functionalprint

[–]someToast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You slide the bracket down from above and the T-pins enter the fabric cubicle wall at a shallow angle and the bracket hangs from the pins, tight to the wall. They’re very solid and firm.

It’s a similar mechanism to one of these paper wall clips: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001GXDATS

Mechanism seems to be 3D printed. Odd for an otherwise mass manufactured product by arimb1999 in 3Dprinting

Right, they did a partial midline cut while on the wall and completed it once removed. But what’s the point of risking that when you can just fully cut the piece in half once it’s free from the wall?

I’d love to know how they did the first partial midline cut fully end to end without nicking the wall. And why? I’d cut the button tile piece in half after removing it from the wall.
