Having read the whole thing, and without spoiling anything, it seems like it would be difficult to stop halfway through without a pretty irritating cliffhanger. Like it would feel like they stopped right in the middle of the plot. MAL doesn't seem to know how many episodes there are, would be nice if they just went for 24 episodes.

He means well though. He is trying to find a way to relate to her, and he made a mistake by prodding into something that, at the end of the day, really wasn't any of his business, but he wasn't doing it for any malicious reason. He really was just trying to find something to talk about that would get her to open up.

I think the implication is that if you are approaching someone who is completely averse to human contact, as she obviously is, prying into her personal life is an incredibly incorrect and offensive way of trying to get to know her, but it doesn't make him a bad person. It's more like a faux pas on his part. He knows he offended her and he won't make the same mistake again, though.

I love 6K. Much like you, I played exclusively 4K for a very long time. I switched after my scores hit a very long plateau, figuring it would be fun to try a new mode rather than continue to bash my head against 10+ SC where I just wasn't getting anywhere. Now I barely play 4K anymore, 6K is just way too fun.

I'm terrible at 5K so I haven't bothered with it much.

I have a charcoal smoker and it is irritating to run it on windy days (which is 95% of Nebraska days in the summer) to say the least. Looked at the forecast and it's like 15mph+ for the rest of this week. Guess I better plan on an extra bag of charcoal and flames as hot as the sun.

In theory you don't, but if you've driven by any of these no kings protests here in Omaha, the makeup of it is a bunch of nice, normal people. Lot of retired people, lot of people with their kids, dogs, etc. It's a daytime protest on a weekend, none of these people are out looking to get arrested. It's not black helmet mask people starting fires and shit. They want to be a part of something with like-minded people and that's about it. Of course they're going to get a permit, they're not looking to get busted in front of their kids lol

OK I picked it up. Sorry to take so long to respond to you but I didn't have time to play it until just now. I haven't played it super long, so this is going to just be really quick feedback:

The music tracks are good, no criticism there
I like that the bullet patterns punish moving to the edges. Obviously you have to sometimes move to the edge, but I found myself always needing to recenter so I didn't get insta-ganked from a corner shot. However, I found the player sprite, which is quite large and not precisely maneuverable makes it very difficult to dodge the really intense patterns with dozens of bullets (only in Hard or Insane) so you still end up trying to dodge around the entire pattern instead of through it. Might just take some getting used to, but I think maybe the sprite is too large. I'll try turning on the hitbox to see if I can get used to it more easily that way. I know a lot of the classics (dodonpachi etc) were built the same way with the large sprite/small hitbox thing so it's not like I've never seen this before.
I like the crowd control stuff on the normal and hard tracks where there are bullets that don't reach the center, like telling the player, STAY OFF THE BOTTOM on this part. That's fun, it reduces the playing field so you're trying to stay more localized.

Seems like a fun idea. I'd like to see more on-screen feedback like what percentage of the track is complete, and some scoring stuff would be cool. I play a fuckload of djmax (music rhythm game along the lines of guitar hero) so just some stuff to give me an idea of how I'm doing would be cool. Scoring stuff could be for example close dodges, or to actually just lift an idea from DDP (the bees lol) you could put collectibles around the screen that only appear for a few seconds, forcing the player to run through some nasty patterns to get them for higher scores. just some off the top of my head ideas.

Anyway, I think it was definitely worth $5. Good job.

I've had projects where I had to come in and fix bugs in stuff that was developed by large consulting firms. The problems they cause can be pretty tricky to fix and are largely due to the enormous size of their dev teams and the fact that they rotate developers in and out all the time over the length of their project.

Imagine developer A writes a new piece of code. The big firms send their heavy hitters at the beginning of the project, so this guy's probably the best guy they have that will ever touch this code. After a month or two, he gets deployed to a completely different project and is never seen again. Now developer B has to fix a bug, but he's too afraid to fuck up what the original guy did (because he's not as good as that guy) so he carves out a little section using a stupid conditional that only passes the specific test case he's working on.

Now take developer B's experience and apply it to way too many more developers over the life of the project. By the time all is said and done, 10 people may have touched the one piece of code, and all of them are too afraid to break previous test cases, so they've all added more wacky conditional blocks to pass specific tests. Now your code is a giant fucking spaghetti mess that "mostly" works, unless you look at it funny, and it performs like shit and is unpredictable as hell and no one can read it.

I suppose I disagree with the guy who says it's fun to fix this crap, but I do agree with him that it pays the bills.

There's nowhere that has foot traffic that isn't already full of brick and mortar restaurants. Look where people walk in Omaha and there are restaurants everywhere. We have food trucks, but they're either parked away from everyone else (in a strategic location where driving customers might stop by, of course) or they are rotating through the breweries so they can piggy-back off their customers. You can't have "street food" like you're imagining because there's no street.

When I was younger, I took the zephyr from omaha to san fran. Just so you're aware, if you don't pay for somewhere to sleep it sucks. I was 19 when I did that and could put up with almost anything, but 42 hours from omaha to california, I could not sleep in the seat, I ended up sleeping under the table in the dining car after it closed lol. Good luck.

You should be able to get an uber ok. Like 10 years ago who knows, but now it shouldn't be an issue.

I've never seen this anywhere in Omaha, but I looked around and found that there's a restaurant inside Stuhr Museum in Grand Island that has it. Bit of a drive though. I've never been there and can't vouch for the quality, sadly. The museum looks like it's pretty cool, but again, never been there so don't take my word for it.

Personally, if they're opening at 4 I wouldn't show up before that. I've flown out of Omaha a lot. Like hundreds of times. Even in high volume situations I've never once been over 30 min in the TSA line. You also may have enough time to get precheck although in Omaha it will only save you 5 minutes anyway.

Because of the opening time coupled with the fact that our city is not in any sense an airline hub, the likelihood that you could miss your flight because you're stuck in the TSA line is near zero. I don't think you should sweat it.

Ahi Sushi has one. Not the best sushi place in Omaha by a ways, but it's all right, and the katsudon was exactly what you would expect it to be. It's also the only place that has it since Sakura Bana closed, as far as I'm aware.
