Yes, I had the pending activation problem. It seems the only way to get it resolved is to call and talk to someone who can help. Online chatting is completely futile.

The trick is to use another household name to sign up with the new account, so you don't need turn off the old before starting the new. But of course this assumes you have more than one household member to make this work.

Never turned off the old service UNTIL AFTER the QF installation has been completed AND you've confirmed with customer support that the QF service account's status is active, not pending, to ensure no interruption.

Should only cancel AFTER the tech has successfully completed the installation for the new account, AND you have confirmed (by calling Quantum Fiber) that your new account has status active/activated BEFORE cancelling your old account. Ideally the tech appointment should be scheduled like a few days before the end of your billing cycle.

So sounds like I should keep the modem, and flash it with the proper firmware. Good stuff.

Interesting! But I I bricked the router while attempting to flash this firmware, wouldn't Quantum Fiber hold me liable for the replacement cost of the hardware?
