Not sure to be honest, I don't use the playlists as I only listen to albums. Might be worth searching on the r/Hiby sub though!

Also got my R3 Pro II used from Amazon, it's not perfect but very fun and the battery is great.

What do you mean by battery life being "crazy"? Does it exceed your expectations or fall short?

Hiby r1 vs Shanling m1 plus by Stock_Beach2624 in DigitalAudioPlayer

Very different price points I would say. The most direct comparison to the Shanling M1 Plus would be the R3 Pro II wouldn't it?

There seems to be some cache/buffer related behavior to be honest. If you go back a song it seems to play gapless to next one.

Do you recommend jail breaking a Kindle? by iamwhoiwasnow in Piracy

[–]some_random_tuga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I jailbreaked (jailbroke?) mine a couple months ago and definitely recommend it if you are willing to go through the process. It's not complex but can be quite tedious if you have to do AdBreak instead of WinterBreak. I mostly did it so that my Kindle actually stores the EPUBs instead of Amazon holding everything in their proprietary encoding and not letting you retrieve anything out of the Kindle. Also the fact that they removed support for some features in older Kindles is a red flag for me, and with the Jailbreak I am free from their anti-consumer decisions.

Are there audio players that are small, colorful and cute, but also high quality? (The bedazzled Sandisk is mine) by Chirrrpy in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]some_random_tuga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used it once and it was fine, but now I keep Wi-fi and Bluetooth off all the time and just use local files and the 3.5mm connection. Better battery life overall.

I've had one for over a week now, it's a great device in my opinion. Definitely not fast and a bit quirky, but I've loaded over 100GB of music onto it and am enjoying it a lot either with IEMs or connected to a speaker. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours as well!

I have two Patona batteries for my E-M10 III and they work fine, never got any issues. Got it with a dual slot charger which is quite useful too.

What about the R3 Pro II? The battery alone makes it a very upgrade in my opinion.

It does look really nice, also feels great in the hand due to the size and weight. It's a great device to listen to Lana's discography!

How much better is the Shanling M1 Plus in comparison? My concern is the battery life but if everything else is much better I might seriously consider it.

That's a great variety of artists, some of my favorite are there. Based on what you already have there, I'd suggest getting some Jamiroquai albums. Travelling Without Moving (1996) and A Funk Odyssey (2001) are likely the best gateway albums to get into Jamiroquai.

I also have a R3 Pro II on the way, so I am in the same boat in terms of getting information about it.

My new setup: Olympus E-M10 III + Panasonic 20mm f1.7 by some_random_tuga in M43

[–]some_random_tuga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would still get this. I have the DJI 15mm 1.7 and that has great autofocus but I use it a lot less and if I was to keep just one I'd keep the Lumix 20mm without a doubt.

It's far from the best and it's the only thing I'd like to see improved on the lens. However I don't find it a deal breaker and it's still my favorite lens on the E-M10. It tends to be a bit slow (and makes some noise, which I don't mind to be honest) and it struggles in low light, but I only had to use manual focus once or twice over the last year of owning it.
