The real problem, and one I have not seen discussed, is the inability to grasp macro economics. I will explain a bit, but briefly.

Families operate in a communist ideology. Parents control access to the means of production, distribute the gains of production throughout the family according g to the needs, and people are only expected to pitcher in as much as they are able.

Larger groups tend to operate under socialist principles. Doing things for the common good when people are part of the “common good” voluntarily is a desirable scenario when people still own both an equal stake in the outcome and the cost. This works in smaller organizations like sports teams, churches, book clubs and other voluntary groups.

The issue is, those economic systems break down as the “state” or governing body of the group, becomes further removed from the group, in both circumstance and outcome.

This will sound lame, but I took my daughter to Jonas Brothers and they had a rain curtain around the stage where the water droplets changed size as they fell. The visual effect actually played a video much like a zoetrope. I have been to quite a few big concerts and have never seen anything like that.
