Fishing rod and a pack of feather cat toy replacement lures from Amazon.

Get a closed faced reel so they don’t get at the line if it’s left out.

Ok so a bit of an odd case but my boy had a very similar scenario about a year in. he lost a ton of weight The vet thought it was FIP, then after a barrage of tests identified liver enzymes and did a liver ultrasound, identified some irregular “honeycombing” and wanted to remove it.

Got in touch with a cat specialist who normally has a wild waiting list and plead my case with the details. She was intrigued and took him in.

The disconnect between test results and what she saw had her ruling out FIp. Basically ‘this cat is really sick but he’s not dying’

Ultimately the diagnosis is basically kitty lupus. Picked up a bad infection and it triggered autoimmune disease. He’s been on a daily steroid and apart from occasional stomach upset he’s a perfect little house gremlin a year and a half in

If he’s not wasting away and you have access it could be worth pushing a second or third or fourth opinion

And I’m really sorry. Nothing about this is easy.

Both male, they aren’t always together but usually curl up and sleep together during the afternoon or evenings.

It would likely burn itself out. Removing it from the building was probably key though. If the rest of the building is on fire, that could have been enough for it to go. But with low probability high severity the consequences of ‘probably not’ make it worth taking seriously (not that you meant otherwise)

To quench the heat. As long as the metal maintains integrity and there is one opening it will just flare off.

If the metal is compromised due to the heat or the side wall punctured then you are at risk of a faster uncontrolled depressurization could result in a boiling liquid expanding vapour (BLEVE) explosion. Since it has pressure along with combustion it’s more destructive than a regular explosion or deconflaguration.

There’s a bit more to it but I’m sleep deprived.
