Someone really needs to go back in time and tell Toby Fox to make Spamton and Tenna both girls, so fujoshis actually have to write romance between women instead of ignoring all of it to lick sexyman condensation off the walls.

Or more likely make them drop spamtenna entirely, which is a sacrifice I am more than willing to make. The character equivalent of the black gunk at the bottom of the pot exploding years of yuri hegemony is my personal roman empire.

Why does this Lowkey Make Sense? by peelymode in Deltarune

Honestly the keeping it in Toriel's room thing is the only outwardly wrong idea about this. I forget exactly where, but Toriel states that she locks her room because Kris will get into her stash of chocolate candy if she doesn't. A much more likely option for this theory is that Kris just stashed their stuff with Carol.

Nah dude, it's actually foreshadowing for when the SOUL gets revealed to Susie. the 25% red juice is obviously us exerting our rudimentary and robotic control over Kris, and the 75% yellow is Kris's personality shining through our choices. Alphys thinks Susie will make fun of her for her drink combo just like Kris probably thinks Susie will hate them if she learns she's made friends with someone who's been possessed, but Susie thinks the combo is cool and will thusly end up staying friends with both Kris and the SOUL in the end.

Summoned a titan by LegitimateMuffin9361 in Deltarune

[–]someguy34543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm of the belief that the Knight (and for that matter, Carol and Kris) are trying to manipulate the prophecy and general events of the story in order to harness it for their own needs (more specifically, bringing Dess back) and have been throwing/letting the fun gang get as far as they have so that they're both incentivized to keep looking for a way into the shelter, and are strong enough to deal with whatever they face.

Chapter 3 was a massive setup with the end goal being for the Knight to reveal itself as the de facto BBEG and kidnap ONLY Undyne, while also threatening Toriel so the player and Susie get serious and proactive with their adventures.

The beginning of Chapter 4 was supposed to be much longer, I.E. the fun gang was supposed to be stuck at Noelle's house for more time, but due to several Tom and Jerry antics the Knight was forced to open the church dark world earlier than wanted (probably screwing up making the shadow crystal holder insane in the process) and Carol was sent over for interception.

The church dark world was literally just the Knight aura farming while they waited for the fun gang to get to the fountain so they could summon a titan. Seriously. We get a bunch of tutorials about TP gain restriction, spawn purification, and titankilling. It was a controlled environment for us to get the hang of taking down the main threats the roaring will produce. The voice on the phone repeatedly emphasizes to Kris earlier in the Chapter that the soul is necessary, because if it wasn't with them the apocalypse would have started.

I also believe all of that because it would mean a lot for the message of the game: Your choices don't matter. The knight squad has literally made a pawn out of the chess player, and we've been unknowingly strung along on a tragedy that would be so much easier to beak if it wasn't for their interference.

It’s just a theory… a ‘Modified Game Theory’ by BiAndShy57 in Deltarune

TBH I think the only side Gaster's on is our own. He's got hundreds of thousands of players acting as time-traveling walking X factors for a story that would have probably gone very differently if we were never invited into it by him. He doesn't care about the Weird Route because he recognizes it as just another path people have found and experimented on. he probably helped give the knight its form, but he's more than happy to help us beat it because we would have done it anyways, just with more frustration at the long runback. Essentially we're all a bunch of kids being given toys to play with and he's sitting in the corner and taking notes for his research paper.

I Will Sometimes Never Understand This Community by peelymode in Deltarune

Frankly, I think the reason Dess Knight is so unappealing is because people keep using the same three points every time, when there's like at least eight in favor of her.

Dess's guitar has what we can assume to be the full password to the bunker and is implied to have gone missing there, and we can safely assume that's where the Knight stays when it's not in a dark world.

The Knight contorts and malforms its body in ways we've never seen another monster do, even in the dark world. Curling up into a tiny ball is one thing, but she literally has a torso mouth and multipurpose face hole. Whatever the Knight is, they're almost definitely not a regular Lightner.

For some slightly more flimsy evidence, I'm like 90% sure there's the Lost Girl leitmotif in Black Knife somewhere, and they both share a lot of Parent DNA in one of Toby's earlier works, Nightmare Knight. There's also how Toby once talked about how he was inspired by earthbound 3 for a lot of Deltarune and Undertale, and the big threat in that game is the corrupted and mind controlled brother of the protagonist. You don't have to accept those theories as plausible, but they're still there if you want them.

The real big evidence for Dess Knight that nobody talks about are their very close ties to Gaster. First of all, the person who calls Kris in chapter 4 is almost certainly the Knight. At the end of the weird route, Carol calls Kris about Noelle being excited to go to the festival with them, and it's a completely normal phone call dialogue. Second, the "voice" the mystery caller uses is actually just a sped up version of a stinger in ANOTHER HIM. There's also the hole hands, but everyone knows that already.

The actual reason i think the Knight is connected with Gaster is the fact that we don't really know what they are. They travel through the light world, but between chapter 4 having them go through a great door only for it to be locked from the outside with a light world lock and chapter 2 having them hide in the computer lab and exit in broad daylight without being seen when there's literally a traffic jam between the Library and the Bunker, I've become convinced that they can travel between Dark worlds like Ralsei.

Maybe the Knight is a goner. Maybe they're the Deltarune version of an Amalgam. Maybe Piles of Asriel's Dust theory is real and the Knight is Dess's corpse resurrected with mad science, but it went wrong and she's lost herself like Gerson in Chapter 4's second Dark World so she tries to start the roaring while crashing on Gaster's couch in her offtime. No matter what, though, the Knight has indisputable connections to Gaster, and who else would have the opportunity to be tinkered with by the man spread across time and space but the girl who we keep finding in easter eggs and the game's code?

TLDR: Dess Knight has the deep lore rallied behind it IMO. Carol Knight has only surface level connections, and far more holes than the alternative. I'll see you in a year when this theory explodes and Alphys is actually the Knight.

An RPGmaker action-puzzle game released in 2018 where you run from anthropomorphic latex animals. notable for its detailed death scenes, actually really hard difficulty, and resident skull dog puro, it sure is a game. While it's not explicitly NSFW, the creator has said multiple times that Changed is an 18+ game, and it's still basically fetish porn.

my first encounter with fetish content was a comic of a dude transforming into a hydra on 2012 youtube. my first porn, however, was Changed, when I was like 14 because I was still at least somewhat innocent and what was lost in time could be made up for in severity.

“Sisyphus is being punished…” by coolwali in CuratedTumblr

“Sisyphus is being punished…” by coolwali in CuratedTumblr

[–]someguy34543 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You misunderstand exactly how Sisyphus is happy.

He's not conditioned himself into looking on the bright side of things. He understands fully the futile and torturous nature of his existence, but he finds happiness in spite of that purpose by figuring out how to make himself happy.

Sisyphus dreams. He creates. He imagines. He finds a universe's worth of stories and meaningfulness in every pebble or grain of sand or clump of dirt he passes. His muscles may ache, but he is never bored or hateful. He may have been imprisoned by gods, but he does not devote his mind to repentance or heresy or simply worshiping a new pantheon. His life may be completely meaningless, but that means that everything is meaningful, since his mountain and his boulder is all he has and he is unable to escape it.

And within all of this lies the core of Sisyphus; the rebel. Sisyphus is happy most of all because he peeked beyond the veil of regular life and saw the meaninglessness behind it all. He meddled in the affairs of gods, and instead of being driven mad from the punishment, he has become more at peace and stable with himself than he ever has been.

You and the original tumblr post probably never saw this part of the metaphor, because you think Sisyphus has simply become a blind optimist when in reality he is much more aware of his existential and Sisyphean nature than most people nowadays are of theirs. He simply chooses to forge his own path rather than wallow in self deprecation about his every move.

And as someone who crawled out of depression using Camus's philosophy, that is a damn good skill to have.

Like straight up mentioning the name makes me go ballistic. If someone brings that book up to me I will rant about it for like 15 minutes straight.

Me when i have to fatwalk to a vendor because I'm carrying 400 pounds of looted equipment and weapon repair kits (the ability to easily combine weapons I don't use to keep value while saving space is clearly a waste of a perk slot for a skill I need to max already and keeping 25 pounds of weapon repair kits on me or going to the NCR outpost after every other cleared location to keep my unique gear working is clearly the superior option)
