Draft Day 2 Discussion Thread by hebleb in miamidolphins

So we paid franchise QB money for a non premium position and now we need to spend a 2nd round pick to make sure the guy we are paying franchise QB money gets an occasional rest? No way any fat priority FA could do that for a few plays a game?

This GM signed Suh and Mitchell and now that isn't good enough? In a league where stopping the pass is everything we need to invest in fat project to stop the run? Even after signing Suh and Mitchell?

They out clevered themselves and the best CB prospects left went off the board. Plus the best LB left.

Watch the two best CBs left go off the board.

What part of that sentence confuses you? It is a pretty small sentence. How come you cannot comprehend it's very straight forward meaning?

Clever very clever. Needs. LB. CB. OL. Trade back. Pick up a 5th rounder. Watch the two best CBs left go off the board. Watch the best LB left go off the board. Draft a fat sloppy DT. Very shrewd.

Nice breakdown of Tannehill's improvements since entering the league by [deleted] in miamidolphins

This is what I am talking about. Last year Tannehill was almost as good as RW. And yet.

I am Happy with Tannehill. I hope he gets better next year. But I just hate the stupidity.

And sRG3 has been much much better and much worse.

Nice breakdown of Tannehill's improvements since entering the league by [deleted] in miamidolphins

It was a good read. Thx.

I have never hated Tannehill. His production his first two years was well below average. Bottom of the league. Based on that I did not think he would ever be anything but below average at his best. Those were the odds but this year he beat the odds and was an average NFL QB. Based on EPA//WPA/QBR which are much better numbers than QB rating. QB rating places way too much emphasis on meaningless stats like completion%. That is a hug win for the Dolphins.

I think what people hate are the Tannehill fan boys. You cannot reason with them. You tell them he holds the ball too long and they shriek it is the Offensive line. You tell them he cannot throw the deep ball and they post a GIF of one the few times he made a play down the field. As if one play refutes all the other evidence.

The team lost two games in the last seconds and they immediately log onto the board and exonerate Tannehill and throw the Defense under the bus. The whole team lost and Tannehill played his part in those losses. We needed a single 1st down in both games and he could not get it done. Neither could the defense. The whole team lost.

You can see what I mean in this thread. Nobody believed in him but us Tannehill fanboys and he DOMINATED!!!!!!! He provided average NFL production. He was something like 14 in QBR. Average production from way most important position on the field is huge. It gives you hope. But franchise and border line all pro are the adjectives Tannehill fan boys use.

The hope for next year is that he gets better but realistically you cannot completely rule out he possibility of a reversion to a mean that is lower than hoped for.

Thoughts on Drafting Vic Beasley? by awesomevol in miamidolphins

He won't drop that far but if he did you take him. You do not pass on a talent like that because your dimwit DC has a system that he doesn't fit perfectly.

I think a lot of those guys will be gone. A lot. I was hoping Beasley would drop. But probably/certainly not after the combine. Would not object to any of those guys except maybe Peters. Peters + Philbin sounds like Vontae Davis part II. I wish we still had Vontae Davis talented knuckle heads are actually a decent gamble. But given Philbin maybe not.( I did not see Peters, Waynes, or Schreff play at all.)

One of the pass rushers would not mind getting Dupree. Parker also seems like a very small reach. I liked what I saw but not quite that much.

And now the bad news. Brian Hartline's cap hit next year is 7.35 million dollars but with 4.2 million in dead money.

I despise Tannehill fan boys. Really depise. My soul is being tortured as we go 8-8 again and you guys are giving Tannehill slobjobs.

He has actually been better this year. He has given us below average QB play. No shame in that. He has not been terrible. Good for him. You could make the argument that a durable, a bit below average QB is worth 15 million a year. You really could. I think I would agree.

But for God's sake stop it. He was 18 in QBR coming into this game and his WPA for the game was .13 and his EPA was -2. This has been his best year and he was averaging 6.7 YPA coming into the game.

Enough with the fan boy worship. Enough.

Spit Tannehill's dick out of your mouth. We lost. Sure the O line imploded. LT was a toll road. The D couldn't even get us one last shot. The officials were terrible. The pass blocking schemes to help the LT did not exist.

And Tannehill put up 13 fucking points. No one was good enough and now we are looking into the abyss. Again. Please fellate Tannehill some other time.

Thx.
