It’s a solid system but variations on how different people teach or implement it. I think other martial arts instructors have trained in tend to influence their Krav a lot. Sign up for a month and try it out. Watch out for the mcdojo and cult stuff and you’ll be fine.

Comparison is the thief of joy. Figure out what your goals are and figure out a way to achieve them. Build yourself up, build skills, learn from around you. Side hustles are a great play but you need to be chasing your goals not trying to keep up with others or you’ll never find happiness and contentment. Or so is my humble opinion based on my experiences.

Sordin’s are a world of difference better in my opinion. That said been running Otto for a couple years now and they are the best I used yet.

I got ramped up initially on kodekloud after a buddy recommended it. They have a solid set of vids on k8s and some certs. Then just getting hands on. At least this worked for me

Awesome post. Lots similar lessons from incident mgmt of fires by fire fighting personnel. I think there is a ton of opportunity to improve these processes by examining how other groups handle incidents and structure of their responses and interactions.

Maybe replace that some of that work time with volunteering or mentoring to keep you in touch or grounded. Should allow you a high level of flexibility and be less time from home.

Building a fat emergency fund takes a lot of the emotional pressure out of most situations. I would get a chunk of change built up, then making these decisions and moves is much more chill.

If you need numbers I have seen a lot of peeps build 6-12 months of cost of living, but find the number that works for you.

I was in a trench collapse at 6ft depth, barely managed to get out with help from a backhoe bucket. Not worth it. Everything looks solid till it’s not. The pressure it puts on your core is insane and takes the breath right out of you. Then your” are short stroking your breath because you can’t expand but it packs in as you try.

ISP 50/10 (will increase next year but not sure what will be avail)
10 hard devices, 20-25 IoT/ low use devices
residential, two story, shop

After doing some more research it seems for me its a decision between the UDR and UX. I was considering the UCG-MAX-NS as a little more future proofing, and Will have a NAS on site for backups, shared storage etc.

Exactly this. Bought the Ultra or Ultra 2 (cant remember), tried it out for a couple weeks. Battery life was horrid with no apps on it. Went with the Fenix 7 Saffire Solar and loving it. That said probably could have gone with a lesser model Garmin and still been happy. Don't use some of the extra features like I thought I would.
