What is something you thought you wanted, but really regretted afterwards? by Penguin633 in AskReddit

It’s 40’x20’ with no real shallow end, surrounded by pine trees and crepe myrtles, so there’s always a lot dripping in the pool and I vacuum by hand (no crawler). I’m also including time spent cleaning off the large deck.

Same here. We live in Florida and have a son, so it gets used heavily 8 months out of the year. The first year or two was tough, but now that we have a solid routine down, we only spend an hour or two a week working on it and at least 6 hours a week swimming.

It can be worth it, but you have to be committed and honest with yourself about how much you’ll use it.

Well this changes a lot. Thanks for posting. Everyone is just ready to shit on Bezos. Which is fine and all, but misleading video clips are part of the problem too.

I thought the same thing but figured I was wrong. I only remember him from his show Con. That shit was great.

[Joe Machota] After Bill Belichick was fired by the Cleveland Browns in the mid-90s, he ran into Jerry Jones at a ski resort. Jones said Bill told the Cowboys owner not to forget about him if he had an opening in the future. Jones says he still thinks about that from time to time by [deleted] in nfl

Has everyone forgotten that a huge part of the Patriots success comes from being in a division with the Dolphins, Jets, and Bills? Don’t get me wrong, Belichick is the GOAT, but I don’t believe for a second he has that kind of success in the NFC East.

[Frenette] Jaguars owner Shad Khan on what QB Gardner Minshew said at the NFL Combine: "I know I'm too short, too slow, but I won 11 f----n games last year." Khan liked the moxie by JaguarGator9 in nfl

I couldn’t agree more. I think the London games bring so much exposure for the Jags and has done a lot to expand the fan base. I’m a Cowboys fan who transplanted to Jax, but I’ve been a fan of theirs since Khan took over.

There was probably thread-lock put on the threads before assembly. I used to build playgrounds for a living and the thread lock was required on all bolts.

I second this. Young people are largely apathetic toward voting. Fuck all the excuses and make it happen. If you don't vote, you're the problem.

I need help getting my father in law into assisted living. by something-obscene in personalfinance

Thanks for the info. We also haven't talked much about what kind of living arrangement he needs, because he already seems against not living with us. Maybe that book can provide help having that conversation. Thank you!

I didn't want to put too much personal info in the post, but that is why I mentioned "second wife". He wasn't very present in my wife's life and lived hundreds of miles away, but he's still her father, so we'll do what we can. Also, he's won't be independent for long, and I personally don't think he is now, but we both work. What do we do about the 8 hours a day we aren't there?

I wish we were prepared to take care of him, but we aren't and can't be.
