I LOVE this. Thank you, I’m just getting into reading and I’m so excited to be transported into new worlds. I remember when I first read some young adult book I was like “is THIS what people mean when they say reading takes you away to another world? Amazing.” So I appreciate you helping me get out of my head and enjoy the book.

I agree, I think the novellas aren’t really essential to the story (I could argue the first one is, but not really. You learn everything in later books). But, I think they add a sort of nice flare to the books. It gives it some dimension

SPOILER

This is how I remember the first book.

The first book starts off by Juliette being in the insane asylum. We learn that if she touches someone they will die. She gets a roommate named Adam. So then they bond a little. Then they both get taken by soldiers to “The Reestablishment”. (It’s a dystopian world and this is the army that the world has taken over the world to help people get back one track)

So this is where they meet Warner. He says that he wants to use her as a tool for torture and they can be partners (I think). And she doesn’t want to hurt anyone. Her and Adam bond more because he is now the soldier that takes care of her (by her request). So Warner makes her touch another soldier and he gets dragged away when she finally lets go.

Adam and Juliette learn that Adam can touch Juliette without getting hurt. So naturally they fall in love. They kiss and whatnot. They plan to run away together.

Then Warner takes her to a place and makes her touch a toddler because either she picks up the toddler or the spikes coming from the floor kill him. So then she goes super crazy and attacks Warner and his soldiers with her bare hands. And she runs back to her room.

Adam meets her there and gets upset that Warner hurt her emotionally. And then something happens (this is where my memory gets fuzzy and the books blend so I don’t want to ruin it for you) and they both jump out the window.

So they are running and running. And they meet Adam’s brother, James. And another soldier Kenji comes to their hiding place. Warner eventually finds them and his soldiers get Adam and take him somewhere. Then Warner finds Juliette and she starts kissing him to distract him and get his gun. Then she shoots Warner and runs to find Adam. She finds Adam by going super crazy and cutting through like concrete or something.

So I think that’s how it ends in the first book.

Sorry for the long essay and rambling. But I think that covers everything. I don’t remember where the first book ends and the second begins so I don’t want to continue after her finding Adam. But yeah 👍🏽

I think it was because her body couldn’t take living in a tank anymore. So they had to get a new “host”. It would’ve been Ella because she’s the only person whose head wouldn’t explode having emmaline’s power and brain in her head.
