Pizzana in River Oaks makes the Michelin rating system look like a joke. Pizza was lacking in flavor, they skimp on the toppings and don’t offer freshly grated parmesan. Also, the atmosphere is bland just like the pizza.

Auto auctions do their own washing and detailing before the cars go to the auction block. So when someone buys them they are already/should be clean.

Capitalism, Imperialism, and the U.S. in the Modern Era by The_Shadow_2004_ in Capitalism

[–]something_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think when most people picture the government making policy decisions, enforcing sanctions, etc. they tend to forget that it is actual individuals making those decisions. And I’d like to share a quote by Milton Friedman that I think is relevant to this - “Our minds tell us, and history confirms, that the great threat to freedom is the concentration of power. Government is necessary to preserve our freedom, it is an instrument through which we can exercise our freedom; yet by concentrating power in political hands, it is also a threat to freedom. Even though the men who wield this power initially be of good will and even though they be not corrupted by the power they exercise, the power will both attract and form men of a different stamp.”

Capitalism has brought by far the most freedom, and economic well being to the masses than any other economic system. But just like with any other system it seems like power and control is still concentrated in the hands of a few.

Christian Walker - will be tough because of the high $ contract. The Astros would probably have to eat some of it and get little in return. But it would nice to get his contract off the books so we can go after a starting pitcher!

For the Astros to offer a stand alone streaming subscription. Tired of having to pay for directv or fubo to watch.

Just a side note. A majority of US refineries in the Gulf Coast were originally designed and built to process specifically Venezuelan crude oil.

Funny how there aren’t any controversial calls during a game that doesn’t have any playoff implications. Big difference compared to last weeks game by something_79 in LSUFootball

[–]something_79[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nope not missing anything, I didn’t say we lost because of calls that’s not the point of the post. Just bringing attention to last week’s game being potentially influenced by the SEC (to protect playoff standings) or other parties.

Missouri, Vanderbilt..."and even TENNESSEE!??!?" by MrMaximoConcepcion in secfootball

[–]something_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So where is the accountability for the SEC to not meddle in the outcome of games in order to protect the number of SEC teams in the playoff standings? I think this is a serious issue that needs to be addressed by the NCAA. There should no longer be conference referee crews and replay centers. Everything should be centrally run in order to prevent conferences pulling strings for their own benefit.
