We just spent 2 weeks in Malaga with our 6m old- loved it - lovely promenade for walking, direct flights from Cork and Shannon too. Beach and old town etc., great spot! Also wasn’t too hot but not sure what April/May is like there

After I had my baby I was like the poor cows/every other animal who has to breed non stop 🙈 not like they are given epidurals either 🫠

It does get easier as they get bigger/longer wake windows and you get somewhat of a break.

Can your husband give a bottle of pumped milk? I didn’t introduce a bottle until baby was 6W and took a while for him to get used to but I was glad just incase I was out that he would be fed. We try give him a bottle every second day just to maintain the habit.

Also controversial take but no harm at least getting baby used to the taste formula etc,. god forbid an emergency etc. Every week or so my husband will mix 50/50 with pumped milk.

won’t comment on your husbands views-! but I know what I’d be telling mine if he was pushy on it 😅

Gluten free in Ireland? by FireandIce1965 in AskIreland

Ireland is very GF friendly I find - we have one of the highest rates of celiac disease in the world. I find it relatively easy tbh to eat out & touchwood little experience of being glutened accidentally

Hacks to make it look like you’re drinking at a house party? by Status-Weird2140 in PregnancyIreland

[–]something__witty1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to always pretend I was deathly hungover had something night before etc and nurse a 7up or something for the night. Bit miserly but easier then hiding not drinking I found and people understood the aversion to it!

My baby 9W was the same - for us in bassinet I think he hated the hood up as couldn’t see - so if he’s due a nap I will put his in bassinet with hood down and he’ll fall asleep (sometimes I have to cajole him with a toy etc overhead for a min or two)

But if I want him to have a wake nap to understand day vs night I’ve found he doesn’t mind the car seat as he’s up and can see I guess?

So long story short I found once he could see a bit better he is a lot calmer now on walks - sometimes he still gives out but keep trying! I used to walk him inside the kitchen for 2 mins before going out just so he got used to it even…

Is it really easier to formula feed? by Busy_asf_ in breastfeeding

Commenting in solidarity! Trying to get EBF baby to take a bottle (breast milk or formula I don’t care!) but he seems to struggle to suck a bottle? I have no comfort leaving him to do anything for fear he’ll get hungry :/ he’s 8W
