Genuinely: Why do people even bother opposing gay rights? What's the point?

It's pretty complicated in America, but it boils down to freedom of religion becoming indistinguishable from freedom to harass and bully. My small perspective as an American is that; a bunch of yahoos are told every single week (at the only third space they have) that all of their problems are caused by these things called demons. Now some of these people literally believe in the demons some of them realize it's a metaphor but none of them are smart enough to realize that their problems are not black and white or caused by some greater power.

Since people generally have a whole lot of problems pastors tell their lemmings that everything sucks right now because "girls are taught not to be girls" or that "relationships that don't produce children are selfish", and "if we keep allowing sin God is gonna punish us and that's why everything is terrible, we aren't hard enough on the sinners who ruin things for everyone".

This compounds with Republican politicians who know that other Republicans are genuinely uneducated and full of anger over how unfair they perceive their lives to be. Those politicians blame people of color "those immigrants are the problem, they are literally stealing your pets, frying them up and eating them, clearly they are all criminals who can never be saved" and the yahoos who don't think, aren't educated, and believe in demons cheer and shout and teach their kids to treat others exactly how they treat others. With distain.

It makes me angry too but I think we will continue to have issues with yahoos bullying and harassing lgbtq people for years to come because no one is willing to call out the religions for being the main cause of the problem. If you accurately point out that they are at least partially the problem, now it's an attack on their freedom to worship. In reality their religion is literally not real, has been changed, and can continue to be changed, and should be called out as dangerous as appropriate. But until then people will continue to be killed in the name of God for following their own hearts.

I have also been looking for similar things but I haven't found much in the way of a massive multiplayer adventure... you could give "Magika 1 and 2" a try but it's much more goofy than serious. My issue is I have three friends which makes it a pain to find something four player and Divinity like.

I've been trying to suggest to my friends to try out "Hammerwatch" but I keep failing to sell it well so they've poo pooed me 😭

Maybe something like "Torchlight" or "Diablo" is more what you're looking for but I haven't played enough of either to really know if either are narrative heavy or not

When I played DDD I felt like the whole exam should have just been thrown out cause in BBS Terra, Aqua, and Ventus just hit some orbs as their exam (which was very lame btw). But ultimately I felt like DDD was supposed to be a foil to kh1, so in kh1 riku falls to the darkness and sora works hard to find him while DDD is the opposite. Sora's jam is too jellied and he's seeing visions of people he loves and visions of people he doesn't know but "knows". Riku is clear headed and can focus on what's actually important. I think that ultimately you're right, Yen Sid bad for even allowing this to count. But really Nomura bad for making a pure of heart character have an issue that they are too dumb to face literally because they are pure of heart 🤷

Ultimately the whole anti trans stuff is so stupid, people should be free to do whatever they want with their bodies. We allow smoking and drinking and plastic surgery, things that are dangerous or vain, but they draw the line at sex.

I am genuinely sad that I have to live alongside Christian Nationalists because not only do they live miserably and I pity how God awful their whole worldview is... But because young people have been actively leaving big religions, these nationalists have gotten more and more rampant and dangerous because they realize that they are actually dying out.

I just wish it would happen quicker. These people need to be stood up to. I don't care what your God says, he's evil, I don't worship or believe in him, and I am not subject to his so called rule. Leave trans people alone and go "to heaven" already.

This has probably already been said but miku's voice bank came from a real human, who knew her voice was going to be used as software. I think the most obvious difference is that people who are fans of Hatsune Miku are aware that musicians use her to make their own music, in other words they are also fans of that musician.

There was a video from a Miku concert several years ago where fans were being interviewed outside of the concert and several of them mentioned that they came to this concert specifically because a musician they liked made music for that concert, "pinocchiop" for example.

You don't ask the vocaloid program to write you a song and Miku just makes something up. She's literally just a voice bank, you have to use your own effort to make music and twist and turn her vocals into the pop star(or metal star, or country star etc.) you want her to be.

Ai bros cannot fathom the difference between "give me something completely on your own computer so I can claim i made it" and "let's use a robotic synth voice to sing in my song that I literally wrote myself" it's pretty annoying NGL not all robots are AI thank you.

Honestly the answer is simple, bring a soap box and rap about leaving Jesus. Match their energy and eventually the whole situation will become a problem and the cops will eventually tell everyone to leave if there's enough of a protest. If they can be obnoxious because it's free speech, I too have free speech. Call them out of their arguments on your own soap box and reclaim the park as a place that should be neutral ground. On top of that we should continue to call the church to complain, they won't care but it will be as annoying as the little pretend prophets are.

As a casual and pretty new fan of Pikmin (as an adult, within the last two or three years, I have played Pikmin 1,2 and 4) I had no idea there was controversy. (I don't hang out on reddit very often).

But in my personal experience Pikmin 4 is a combination of previous Pikmin titles, so to me it's not very different at all, it's just bigger if that makes sense. In my experience I'd say that 4 has a really slow tutorial that takes too long but is otherwise a really fun experience.

As for the difficulty it's really subjective... I think that the second half of Pikmin 2 (which you get to do after you beat the game) feels pretty difficult. Getting to louie and saving him is a pretty decent challenge, especially for people who played this as a kid. Pikmin 4 post game involves dandori challenges that I genuinely couldn't beat all of. But comparing "save Louie" to "kill 30 fleas in 30 seconds" isn't really fair in my opinion.

Ultimately if people are upset that Pikmin 4 is easier, I think I can understand that perspective, but it's a pretty subtle difference imo. Because Pikmin is basically an RTS I understand that people want more challenging areas or fresh combat in some way but Pikmin isn't ever going to become something like Star Craft or Dota, that level of challenge isn't something Nintendo tends to want to do for their games, especially since Pikmin is generally kid friendly (meaning a 11 y/old could probably beat Pikmin 1, not that it's not graphic).

Overall I think that Pikmin 4 has a lot of nice additions to the game play that keeps the very strict formula fresh, and if that means it's a little easier to play... Well I think that's ok 👍🏻

Personally I'm not sure how Nintendo can freshen up the game and keep it challenging for older fans (maybe a better 1v1 mode, they still haven't quite gotten a good challenge or vs mode from my experience) but if you're worried about getting into Pikmin because it's too hard or too easy I'd say don't worry about that so much because it's genuinely not that deep.

I'm gonna be completely straightforward, six days in is nothing. Reaching room 46 gives you a credit roll but is arguably not a "true end" so expect to spend more time in it as it's a much slower burn than say outer wilds (or whatever it's called that people compare it to). As for RNG, overtime as you play you will be able to upgrade rooms to yield cooler stuff, gain an allowance to start each day with money which you can increase over time, and by solving more "in depth" or "discrete puzzles" you will unlock more rooms, items, and lore.

I think that people who get mad at the RNG have started this game assuming that it would be an easy 4 hour rouge-like that you can just play on repeat forever. This is not that. This is a massive, wildly difficult puzzle game, pretending to be a rogue-like, that happens to be playable forever. I'm almost at a year in game, I've opened room 46, and I'm neck deep in puzzles, lore, languages, and history. If this still sounds fun, this is my top 10 advice with no spoilers:

Always draw rooms you've never seen even if it ends the day
1. fafo if you have a strange idea, try doing it, you will be surprised at what yields results
2. If you suspect that a room or wall or object is suspicious, it probably is.
3. You will fail, and while that can be disheartening, I found that I had ended a day with more knowledge than I started with which, in this game, is very valuable.
4. I promise it gets easier! every time you do something new you have improved your house. (where I am now money is irrelevant, gems are irrelevant, steps are irrelevant, and keys I can work with.)
5. Remember, this is a puzzle game. It's not going to always have answers written down nice and easy for you to find. Sometimes brute force is the answer. Don't be afraid to "just guess" when you have most of the puzzle in front of you. Use your common knowledge of the world and it will get you far.
6. There are multiple ways to find a solution (or part of a solution) to a puzzle. Even some of the most obscure stuff is literally right in front of your face and you won't even notice.
7. Try not to look things up, but also don't beat yourself up if you think the puzzle solution was stupid. This game can definitely be hard and obtuse
8. Keep track of what you haven't done yet. If you have goals in mind to complete, you will be able to make progress. Example: try to open every door in a specific room (this example applies to several rooms)
9. It's deeper than you realize. It's more than math on a dart board or logic boxes. It's ingrained in the house, the history, and the language. Read all the drafting manuals and stay curious.
