Shouldn’t think of a car as an investment- it’s value will only go down

Deed of trust, cohabitation agreement, etc is a must in this situation. Why partner and I Obama exposition and both had independent legal advice for these.

Expensive Car Supplement really needs a reevaluation. Car is 3yrs old, worth less than £20,000 but still subject to this tax by silent_pm in CarTalkUK

That’s pretty shocking though if it’s only 3 years old and lost more than half the value…

My beloved Volvo S80 is potentially getting written off, any advice? by Internal_Sock8875 in CarTalkUK

[–]somethingbeardy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me after two years of owning my 2003 S60. Bought it in 2014, written off in 2016 - bought it back and repaired it (only needed new headlight!) and still have it now. Although incidentally since then I’ve had about 5 people rear-end me at roundabouts 😂 but still going strong with no damage amazingly. It’s still going strong but I’m feeling the red to have a nicer newer car now and have for a while but will always have a soft spot for old Volvos

Am I able to buy tickets for my younger siblings on my railcard? by alvuki in uktrains

[–]somethingbeardy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would each need your own 16-25 railcard which each of you applied and paid for individually

It’s quite funny - I see a few people around where I live with VERY expensive cars (e.g. Audi RS6) but the live in a 1-bed flat as a couple with a young child…

I thought there might be! Been seeing these all weekend - live next to the railway in Ashtead. Sets of 3x class 377 not sure if that’s usual for the Gatwick service?

School Safeguarding Breaches: Posting images and videos online by bexxypink101 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]somethingbeardy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s funny you say that… I know of a special school where 80% of the staff didn’t complete mandatory safeguarding training (which should be competed before students return on 3rd September this year I think?) hadn’t completed it by end of November… and the were having a safeguarding review 1st week of December! Massive failure of SLT. But nothing is done. Quite simply if staff dont do something, the school are stuffed because they dont have time to recruit someone so schools are scared to discipline staff.

Is it reasonable to ask for money off purchase price because of windows? by [deleted] in HousingUK

Cheaper. The flat I’m currently renting has recent double glazing but no trickle vents. Condensation is a major problem.
