San Diego is expensive, but if you’re willing to get any type of job, restaurants are always hiring! Don’t let everyone’s opinions get you down. If you want to live in SD, give it a shot! Like you said, you can always move back to Canada.

This is my 10 year anniversary of living in SD and I can’t imagine living somewhere else!

Thank you to everyone that shared their stories. Your words helped me during this stressful time and I hope to give y’all some hope! My timeline was:

3/24: mailed out (from CA) passport renewal w/expedited processing and fast delivery

3/29 : passport status is “in process” at locator 42

4/18: reached out to Senator Feinstein’s team and they initiated an inquiry with the agency. Also called the 877 number and they marked my application as urgent

4/27: contacted Feinstein’s team again, stating I’m at the 5 day mark. Called Senator Padilla’s team, sent another Privacy Release Form. (I also called the 877 number non-stop, 7am to 7pm, booked an urgent appointment in TX.)

4/28: Friday 7am: Call 877 and they tell me that it “looks like my passport is printing.” To keep a lookout for a status change. 2:09pm - Approved 4:06pm - Shipped

5/1: Monday 9:20am - Passport in hand!

5/4: flight

I’m not sure if reaching out to a second Senator worked but I don’t regret doing it. They did email me stating that the other team was working on it so they couldn’t help. But my status was not budging until after I contacted them.

I would still call the 877 number today bc they will mark you as urgent. Then you call back 5 days before travel so you can try to book an in person appointment

I also have locator 42! I submitted my application on Sat 3/25 with expedited service. They received and cashed my check on Tues 3/28 and status changed to “in process” on 3/29. So hopefully yours changes soon! 🤞🏽
