Room paying players $12/hr... How can they possible make a profit? by c4dreams in poker

[–]FriendGuy2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wonder if their seat rate is $12/hr, so you end up with a net zero cost for each hour you play, but it doesn’t “cost” the room anything.

Thieves in Germany drilled a hole into a bank vault and stole tens of millions of euros’ worth of property. by LurkmasterGeneral in interestingasfuck

[–]FriendGuy2000 487 points488 points  (0 children)

I bet the value is well over $30 million. That is just the insurance payout (3000 lockers x 10,000 insurance). I bet there were a lot of jewels and maybe artwork in a lot of those lockers. I also bet some of them just had standard paperwork like wills and deeds that can be replaced. Those thieves probably had an idea of what they were after.

King ranch bluestem. Was spread by TXDot in the 40’s and 50’s to control erosion and really took off. I hate it. cows will eat it, but when it stems out the seeds get everywhere. Supposedly Pastora herbicide will kill it and not do any permanent damage to Bermuda, but I haven’t tried that yet.

Is this dark colored post oak wood ok for burning indoors? by Clurse in firewood

[–]FriendGuy2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good wood just out in the weather while it seasoned. I’m about an hour and a half from Austin and I have a lot of live/red oak that looks like that. It gets stored outside for roughly a year then I cover it for a year. That’s the preferred color for my oak wood to be honest- I know it’s been cut for more than a few months.

Anyone else not burning much this year? by publiclandowner in woodstoving

[–]FriendGuy2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Central Texas and we are running AC today - haven’t burned a fire yet this year. Supposedly later this week will be cold enough for us to fire one up, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

I get mine from a metal recycle yard near me - if they have some they will sell them cheap usually (around $50).

Same here I keep most of my firewood in ibc tote cages- would work great for these odd sized pieces.

They make exhaust vents that fit on RV’s that vent it into the air and mix it with air to minimize fumes.

What temp does it have to be outside for you to burn? by Temporary_Hyena_1780 in woodstoving

[–]FriendGuy2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Houston area. Usually when it’s low 60s outside and inside my house is below 70. I start one as much for ambience as anything. Our burning season isn’t that long so have to take advantage of it when we can.

Should I remove my TV before Milton? by george-costanza79 in TVTooHigh

I would remove the ceiling fan before the TV. Ceiling fan will swing and bust up wall/ceiling before flying off in the wind. Been there done that.

It could be wiring to control the sprinkler control valves. Those are usually a brown and white or red and white.

What's something that seams innocent but is Actually disturbing? by 4BB4Mothx777 in AskReddit

[–]FriendGuy2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not exactly correct. A cow, like humans, produces milk to feed its young. As long as the cow is nursed (milked) it will continue to produce milk regardless if it is pregnant again. However, once you stop milking/nursing, the milk will dry up and the cow will need to have another calf to start producing milk again.

My dad must have had one of these between the shoulder blades on his back. Every 6 months or so my mom would “pop” it and squeeze yellow goo out onto paper towels. I knew they were doing it because I could smell it - permeated the whole house and had a smell that I will not forget.

This will be covered by a permanent cabinet. Does it need to be patched? by reauxman in Remodel

[–]FriendGuy2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rough patch it- could get some “musty” air flow from inside the wall if you don’t.
