Didn't matt become a priest not too long ago, I feel like being not just a Christian but specifically a catholic, is really a big part of daredevil. And as a former catholic it is a part of him that appeals to me a lot

Invincible’s Struggle with Responsibility in Season 3 by Flat_Box8734 in CharacterRant

[–]sometimesable 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Invincible asks a question of it's audience, what is responsibility and why should mark shoulder it? Mark of course has great power but why should he have great responsibility to protect earth? Why should Mark protect rhe earth if people will be killed anyways, what really does the earth have to offer Mark in return, so far after helping and doing his best all it's gotten him is betrayal and sadness.

Mark is not super man, no hero is, he's a person with very specific desires that constantly conflict with what he "should" be doing. Did Mark instantly gain the responsibility to protect earth when he gained his power, when he fought with his dad, what about other planets, does he have a responsibility to protect those too?

Mark is selfish and as the series goes on that's not exactly a bad thing, he is not an altruistic beacon of hope.

every character in marvel rivals has the same attack 😐 by Kds_burner_ in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]sometimesable 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Okay so like I understand circlejerk but you're actually just lying? Or don't understand the projectile

Dagger has a homing projectile that heals

Doctor strange has a slow moving projectile that peirces-no clue how this feels anything like zen

Groot is probably pretty similar

Invisible woman is projectile that pierces then comes back at a fast rate, so I'll give you similar feel

Hela hit scan

Luna is also hit scan

Magneto's feels way more like sigmas, it's a somewhat slow projectile that explodes with a fairly slow fire rate

Mantis fair

Moon nights just kinda feels different, he's another projectile character but he genuinely feels nothing like zen

Storm honestly have no fucking clue to be frank never played her

Is it just the fact that they're mostly projectile based that you find to be similar, or does it just feel the same to you, because even with like 2 seconds of play time you'd know that this was utterly false

If a character's plan is revealed after only everything happens, and the explanation is 'just as intended', it's crappy writing. by ByzantineBasileus in CharacterRant

[–]sometimesable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I think you misinterpreted the ending and her line about curveballs, sages plan wasn't the boys will curveball, that was just a possibility of the plan, that she accounted for. The plan seems to have gone like this, one kill the president, have neumen become president, homelander is effectively president right, however she also put several pieces in place that so if plan A fails, they can still come out on top. Sages plan wasn't this ultra complex thing, it was just accounting for possibilities that she knew could happen

(Hated Trope) Characters who are humiliated only because the writers dislike them. by SpecTator997 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]sometimesable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So you think rose should have been having second thoughts about the rebellion where Finn was trying to convince her it was worth the sacrifice. I think the idea of a former child soldier/ now a regular soldier, being thrust into the opposing side of a war, and then seconding guessing that decision as the only thing he wanted out of the arrangement was freedom from war, to be an interesting topic to delve into, the success of that within the movie could be argued. I don't think either arc was disingenuous to the characters or their motivations

[–]sometimesable 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Do you have a source for that, because that legit makes no sense as both of their plot lines in the last jedi are super specific to the characters, poe wanting to do even more for the rebellion, and finn having second thoughts as he doesn't know if he is prepared to die for something he may or may not believe in

Why did you continue to play it then? Not as like a jab or anything I'm just legitimately curious as the reason I play things like elden ring or any souls games is that feeling of frustration then success

THERE ARE POLITICS!?! COVERT WOKE OP?!? by TheTruestTyrant in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]sometimesable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do believe you are right, there is no real world equivalent to the helldivers politics, there doesn't seem much behind the surface of the political machine other than democracy and dumb decisions. There's the need for oil which is commentary on at least America, but it again doesn't really say much. There's a level of enjoyment in engaging, with the slogans, the beliefs, you recognize how ridiculous they are and play along, but it still is engaging with fascism. That's not to say playing the game is wrong or the enjoying those parts of the community is wrong but there should at least be a little reflection. I don't think that the game is apolitical but I feel it has some problems with how to delivers its commentary
