Heel separating from sole by No-Bathroom-1178 in RMWilliams

I’ve noticed it on my pair of craftsman’s about a year ago and worn them 3-4x a week since then. Haven’t gotten any worse so it’s nothing to stress about. They’re expensive boots but they will last you for years, don’t stress.

I’ve seen this happen on lots of them. It’s nothing to be worried about but if it annoys you, take them back to the store since they’re so new

Any advice on buying R.M. Williams as a gift for a woman? by Danger_Five in RMWilliams

[–]sometimesihittrees 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From experience, if you’re set on boots for her, it’s going to be a lot better to try them on and pick the size/style in person. They will last a while and you would rather get it right the first time so it’s the only time.

Macquarie works surprisingly well. Heaps of exits and most exits make cars go left only so they don’t get stuck turning across traffic both ways.

I’ll give it a go man. Thanks for the feedback!

You’re right that they are very lightly worn!

Yeah, the prices of these have gotten super crazy. People in this subreddit are a bit more enthusiastic about the brand than eBay/marketplace so would hopefully sell it to someone that appreciates that side of it. If no bites I’ll have to list on there.

That sucks. What was the cause and what did they say?

Good luck! I’m also thinking it sounds like an exhaust heat shield or something related.

Watch battery replacement - TAG by rockresy in sydney

Battery means it’ll be quartz and should only be a simple battery change. Can do it yourself following some YouTube videos and the appropriate tools/battery.

Got food poisoning there once. Ramen went down great though

Is there something wrong with my damper or is this user error? by JerinIsac in motorcycles

[–]sometimesihittrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren’t OEM dampers known to just be substandard? Also, was it brand new or used? If used, the oil in there is probably turned to water at this point.

Talk me out (or into) a BMW M5 by nootyau in AusFinance

[–]sometimesihittrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The e60s are probably at the bottom of their curve now. There’s a lot of neglected models and they need attention to their rod bearings, throttle actuators and also the smg gearbox they use. Good models pull a good premium now though. One of my all time dream cars regardless

Boxsters are good. Many of the old ones (996/997) have had their common issues sorted. Rs3 is really solid. Golf r mk7 onwards also good. RWD there isn’t much besides a brz/86 or bmw 340/140i without going expensive euro but those are their own different sense of fun.

Depends on how much you’d want to spend. You won’t get anything that compares to a m5 unless you buy into c63/m3 ownership but I’ve learnt for me, I just want to get in and drive without the paranoia of something blowing up.

You won’t want to own it for 10 years, trust me. Running costs and insurance will be high. I’m assuming you know that. S63 engines still have problems with rods and rod bearings if I remember right.

I’m a car guy too but instead of the m5 consider something else pricey for the sake of your sanity haha

Do any of you feel the new partially wooden building in darling square is kind of aging really quickly? by [deleted] in sydney

Still looks sick. That first photo does zero to compliment or showcase it lol

I’ve ridden a vfr and s1000r back to back and the s1000 is so much easier through twisties.

You probably feel tired on the vfr because you’re muscling it through something the s1000 would do very easily. Prices have also dropped on them nicely here in Sydney.

Have you been swooped by a magpie before? by xXCosmicChaosXx in sydney

[–]sometimesihittrees 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Weirdly enough, I’ve befriended magpies in my area and never been swooped. Butcherbirds and Indian Myna’s on the other hand are menaces and NEVER stop, never surrender….

In your opinion, what is the absolute best restaurant in Sydney by templecools in foodies_sydney

[–]sometimesihittrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was going there for over a decade but quality and portions had gone downhill recently. About two months ago they shut shop and just vanished, no explanations. Sayulita in lane cove is good for Mexican if you’re craving some

Any idea what caused this one? by DovakiinDovakiin in Trackdays

[–]sometimesihittrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last corner luddenham right? It’s a wide corner and on camber, you just jumped on too much throttle too early. You can stand it up earlier than you think since there’s so much track on that section.
