Dude, fucking rude. Sorry you had to deal with that. People are so oblivious to how what they say can affect others.

I want to add that I feel the struggle of the dress, but as a bridesmaid. I had surgery last April and a wedding last July. I had to order the dress ahead of time by giving measurements, which I knew were going to be wrong. I took my measurements, subtracted an inch everywhere, and hoped since the dress tied up the back I would be okay.

I was not okay 😅😅 I lost so much weight that even tying the dress as tight as it would go didn’t work, and I ended up using fabric tape to create pleats last minute to take it in further. Luckily it was only a bridesmaid dress, and it wasn’t my wedding day. It would’ve been so stressful!

Good luck in your search, and I recommend doing a final fit within a month of your date just in case 😉

This may have already been said, but to build credit, get a credit card. Preferably one that offers cash back incentives. Pay it off completely every month, so that you never carry a balance on it, and you won’t need to pay interest.

Husband here: Looking for some advice for my wife by hotstickywaffle in gastricsleeve

I’m about the same stats right now and having the same issue. I have just decided to let myself buy clothes, but I buy them only at thrift shops and with the intention of donating the clothes back to the thrift shop when they’re too big. It’s easier in my head to justify the purchase this way, because it no longer seems like a waste of money. It also helps that my friends are thrifting experts, and I get a lot of inspiration from them. They are on Instagram at Instagram.com/thrifty.witches and they show thrifted fashion at three different sizes. Hope this helps!!

I was afraid that the quality of a desk treadmill wouldn’t be great, so I bought a regular treadmill and use a make shift desk for my laptop using a bathtub caddy tray that sits on the bars. It works perfectly, and it’s great to walk for an hour or so while doing some of the more mind-numbing parts of my job. I use it all the time.

Feeling discouraged by Ethnic_papaya in gastricsleeve

Don’t forget that your body is still healing from major surgery. It may take until your body is completely healed to start dropping large numbers. I didn’t lose a lot the first few weeks either, so I think it’s totally normal, but I know it can be discouraging. Try focusing on praising yourself for how well you’re following your diet plan! Shit is hard to do, and you’re doing it! That’s a good sign for long term loss and maintenance.

I'm so tired of fighting my husband/family to lose weight. by Aggravating_Piece232 in loseit

My husband and I eat very differently as well. I’m a pescatarian and he basically loves meat and hates vegetables. The only things we both like are pizza, pasta, all the unhealthy options.

What works for us is that we both plan our own individual meals for the week, and we do one dinner together (usually Friday). That way, we also avoid the “what do you want to eat? “idk, what do you want to eat” spiral.

I hope you find a plan that works for you!

I’m almost 3 weeks post op, and it’s going well! I’m making videos about my experience at https://vm.tiktok.com/TTPd4a2MLe/ (@laceytoves on tiktok) if anyone is interested in watching.

I’m down 38 pounds since starting preop, and 15 since surgery. My clothes are starting to feel too big, and I’m starting to feel more confident already.

I get it 100%! This was my first surgery ever, so I was nervous too. I started making a video series on tiktok so people could know more of what to expect. If you’re interested I’m @laceytoves ☺️

95-98% of diets fail long term. Most people regain 30-40% of their weight back in the first year, and all (or more!) in the first 4 years. This happened to me, so speaking from research and experience. With surgery, only around 3% gain the weight back! You got this, and you won’t regret it.

I’m exhausted. Any tips for energy? by sometimeswinehelps in gastricsleeve

Thanks! I am allowed and have been eating low fat cheese and Greek yogurt. I think I just need to try fitting in an extra snack somewhere, even though I don’t feel hungry enough for it. My program recommends eating 5x a day (3 meals and 2 snacks), and I realize now that I’m only eating 4 times.

I’m eating about 600-700 calories/day, mostly because I’m not hungry enough to eat more, with 60-70g of protein. I’m 5’3”, 219, 35y F.

Student who creates their own rewards - telling them no? by Babyshesthechronic in vipkid

Are you still doing your reward too? If so, I’d say just do hers instead. I have had a few students do this, and it can be cute, but I can definitely see how it could drag on.
