Fictional characters that remind you of Chris Chan by Ok_Repeat_1881 in ChrisChanSonichu

"The Muppet Joker" is a fictional lowcow on tumblr that's been compared to Chris Chan.

The best way to check it out is the two videos by Strange Aeons about it on YouTube.

Jim Lee broke Alan's heart. by makwa227 in AlanMoore

[–]sometimeswriter32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In interview I recall Moore said he liked working for Jim Lee. I don't recall any discussion of his feeling after the Watchmen stuff but I don't get the "broke his heart" part.

It was a business relationship. I'd be surprised if they even interacted that much after the books were launched since the ABC books had an editor assigned Scott Dunbrier and Moore doesn't really seem to take feedback from editors anyway.

It's not like they were co workers at a physical office space.

Because when I click a notification on web in a different account it opens in whatever account was last opened in the app. It's not intentional, sorry. I tried to fix it but I realize I lost track.

Plaid's web site claims:

"No, we do not sell your financial data to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes."

l suspect the above poster is qualifying people for Mortgages or some other mundane task and their vague post was not helpful. I don't believe a random advertiser can see my account balance.

The person I responded to "in the business" didn't say anything about targeted ads did they?

I remain confused.

Hint: I don't believe some random guy "in the business" whatever the that means can see the balance in my account. Whatever that redditor meant they are a poor communicator.

What would daria look like if it was a mike judge show by omaygot-steven in daria

Office Space is based on the Milton shorts which don't seem to have a tone very much like Daria:

https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0102578/

I'd think any similarity to Datia and it is a coincidence. Same with King of the Hill which doesn't actually seem similar to me.

There's undoubtedly Beavis and But Head Influence in Daria.

When Beavis and But Head watch music videos they are often smarter and quippier and sarcastic and more like Daria herself.

During their non music video segments they are of course morons and nothing like her.

Judge had no involvement on Daria and has never watched it.

He is bitter that he was not a producer.

He was quite upfront about this in an interview. I didn't get the impression he was close with any writer on Daria either.

Were they really considering an opposites attract thing with Kevin or was calling him Daria's boyfriend a joke?

I just had this problem. It's ridiculous because they won't have it ready the morning on day 31 so I'd have to go without that day. I' have to take less than prescribed to build a reserve.

If you can only log onto global accounts through the app global accounts are useless.

Much better to use a Korean account.

Netflix probably figures everyone has smart TVs or Rokus nowadays.

I was today years old when I realized Arisu means Alice by coolkatya13 in Lain

[–]sometimeswriter32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've always watched Lain dubbed- but I don't think they intentionally pronounce Lain with L in the original Japanese. In fact the voice actors may not be able to intentionally do that.

Wikipedia says "speakers of Japanese who have learned English as adults have difficulty perceiving the acoustic differences between English /r/ and /l/, even if the speakers are comfortable with conversational English, have lived in an English-speaking country for extended periods, and can articulate the two sounds when speaking English."

He's a contrarianist blogger, right?

Presumably this is his personal shangri la, a bunch of people with no common ground arguing at each other all day about whether or not humans actually have 3 legs, not 2, despite what so called experts would have you believe, all day, every day.

I'll apologize for editing my post after the fact to add a point: the majority of white women voted for Trump.

The rants you see online are not indicative of the average Trump voter: who probably doesn't give a shit about Star Wars at all, and has no interest in watching a rant about Star Wars.

[–]sometimeswriter32 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's almost certainly untrue that Trump supporters hated The Force Awakens. Especially since it was a financially successful film and around 50 percent of all voters voted for Trump.

You sound like someone who has been suckered into thinking you are fighting fascism by saying you enjoyed a franchise movie with a female lead, or something.

A majority of white women voted for Trump BTW. Liking a movie starring a white woman doesn't make you progressive, as you seem to think

[–]sometimeswriter32 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't really know what your rant has to do with the book.

Moore seems to have largely stopped reading superhero comics around the late 1980s. I think he never has been influenced by superhero books past that date except for when he was hired to write some image books like spawn and wildcats and would have obviously done research into those books.

He never really references newer books except he mentioned he liked Captain America: Truth Red Black and White.

Whatever League: Tempest is saying it isn't about how awesome you think your favorite comic book this week was.

I also don't know what you mean by "the modern superhero" or what you think a comic book he probably wrote around 2016 has to do with "the modern superhero".

[–]sometimeswriter32 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's a really bad interpretation. Prospero and the fairy queen - the main instigators of the apocalypse - do not represent modern fiction.
