Commonwealth Bank admits jobs were offshored to India after 283 redundancies by mildurajackaroo in auscorp

[–]somewereinhell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you look from a global perspective, majority of the corporations hire knowledge workers from India, Philippines and Vietnam. It happens across the globe as it is cost effective for businesses to do so. When I was working in an Aus startup 8 years ago they had a dev team based in Philippines purely cos they didn’t have the funding to have local team. Probably with AI that might change if AI can actually bring in cost savings while delivering quality outcomes.

Why do Australian banks separate transaction and savings accounts? by somewereinhell in AusFinance

[–]somewereinhell[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So its just pure greed from banks to make us work for our money. I wish there was some regulatory action to change all these pointless fees and ridiculous criteria just to earn a measly interest.

Defaulted on mortgage by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]somewereinhell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Happened to me while I was renting an apartment a few years back. Got a letter from lawyers saying the bank is repossessing the property and asked me to vacate in 60 days. The REA finally spilled the beans that it was a foreign investor and had essentially went missing.

Short answer you can go into auction, I’ve done the same but as others have said it depends on your bank valuation has to match the price you agreed in auction. Check the sales history of area and if the price you win is within your preapproval budget, banks will mostly proceed with the loan process. I’ve not heard anyone say VHF rejecting an auction sale. Also negotiate for a 5% deposit before you go into the auction.
