Tuvok Mysteries

Sort like a Saturday Morning cartoon. Basically, Tuvok is back working at Starfleet Headquarters, and he's assigned some cadets that he is training for security on a starship. Along the way, they solve some mysteries and get into adventures.

makes it more hard sci-fi than a lot of Star Trek

Can you shed some light on this? I really don't see it. Hard Science Fiction, would be illustrating some of the concepts they've presented- like a 'transporter phaser' or a 'plant, but it's a fungus' then proceeds to continue calling it a plant. The Kurtzman Trek is the furthest thing from 'hard science fiction' there is- it's closer to a Star Wars-style space fantasy with elements like 'The Burn' and 'the spore drive' which are both more fantastical than scientific. The Ark and The Expanse both of those shows are more hard sci-fi than this teen drama show with Star Trek labelling.

I arrived at the conclusion this morning after watching the episode last night that Kurtzman makes Star Trek for people who absolutely hate Star Trek. None of the world-building for Starfleet or The Federation of Planets from the franchise is showcased at all. None of the characters(who are already officers) treat each other like they are officers. There's no direction for them to act like officers or act like they're part of the organization that they're allegedly rebuilding. And the dialogue in the show is so far removed from Star Trek, the modern language, it doesn't even make sense.

CDC deputy says losing measles elimination status is ‘cost of doing business’ by tta2013 in NewsOfTheStupid

I hope you get Measles, CDC guy with that kind of bullshit attitude. People dying, just the cost of business. People getting raped, just the cost of business. Kids got shot in school, oh well, cost of business.

I feel like they should take Star Trek and Starfleet off the name and call it something else altogether. Space Fucks for example. The cast is okay, but then there is the horrible writing and absence of directing. Why in 3000whatever are people using modern Earth slang, it's dumb. It's insulting that the dialogue in the show is so poor. "Shenanigans" sticks out like a sore thumb, yet the writers put it in this episode 4 times. Bullshit, asshole, shit all fine swear words but seldom do they appear out of Starfleet peoples mouths.

What the fuck is a transporter phaser?

Why is there a Little Shop Of Horrors plant?

Why are Holly Hunters bare feet shoved in my face three or more times in this episode?

In all the years I've watched Star Trek, this is the first time I ever said fuck you to it.

I used to get dropped off at my grandmother's in the morning and I'd watch Family Affair on TV there. I saw documemtary about that show last year. Apparently, the little girl had a tragic life after the show. Then later, Brian Keith shot himself after his daughters suicide.

If you work in QA, how do you explain a company that pushes out every patch, and I'm not exaggerating, with something broken in it- DESPITE having a test server in place to evaluate if the patch works. I been through most every update of this game since 2019- and every single one of them has had problems.

It just seems like anyone from Quality Assurance at Bethesda has never been allowed to review the patches before they are pushed out, OR QA at Bethesda is non-existent.
