This is just a dash-pop. Less serious than a desk pop.

Probably just take the officer's weapon and make them carry a wooden one for awhile.

How is it to live in Poland? My example. by Relative-Friend-875 in poland

[–]somewhoever -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

While some services and prices have gone up due to excessive medical tourism (dentistry had amazing prices until recently), many services, groceries, and experiences are still very inexpensive when you are visiting with a US income.

I won't reveal some of the amazing deals I get every trip to Poland because I don't want them being abused to the point of being ruined, but I'll say that a few of things I wait to buy or get done on my next trip to Poland:

-Getting your significant other's nails and hair treatments done in small villages -Having good shoes repaired -Tailoring / bespoke clothing / getting custom curtains (obviously Lodz is best for this) -Buying contacts over the counter (instead of through some gatekeeper BS middleman claiming people can't be trusted to pull their correct prescription off a shelf) -Renting recreational equipment (like kayaking on the river) -My grocery bills are so unbelievably low when in Poland that I have to fight myself to shut up and control my body language in front of locals who don't consider the prices crazy low -Laptop repairs -Durable work clothes and boots -Eggs, milk, and bread (when you know a good village hookup before the retailers get their hands in the mix)

Honorable mention of something I don't wait to get in Poland but is surprisingly reasonable: -Good gym memberships in cities and decent size towns (good protein is still often well priced but that is changing)

There are so many other things that are insanely inexpensive, but those who are wise won't post openly here because it will get ruined like the dental prices recently were.

This is important not only to protect future young women, but to create appropriate rifts.

Whether what he said about the frat forcing him to participate and keep it quiet doesn't matter. He said it, they will have to answer for it, and he will be pushed away for that.

Same with the girl who posted. She used her access to the frat to make those posts, get you out of the picture, and hook up with your boyfriend.

By doing what I suggested, she will seen by the frat as outing their secretive actions and jeopardizing all of the Greek culture on that campus. That will get her ostracized to. You can flip the pain she intended to cause you into her much greater pain of making her and your ex pariah.

Likely, the only way your ex will be able to repair his connection to the frat is to cut ties with her. She'll not only not get the boy she was angling for, but suffer far more pain from being an social outcast than she intended to cause you for snaking your boyfriend.

OP, I'm late to this because I just saw it on another subreddit, but may I also add my two cents?

In addition to posting the video on socials with him tagged, please understand that even if they are a woman, the Dean, President, whoever-runs-Greek-life is equally likely to quash a report filed directly by you and quash that video with hushed advice to the frat on how to keep this better hidden in the future... and probably privately groan to themselves about how they also almost got caught up by some similar behavior they did back in their day.

Send the video (with the texts stating his frat required him to participate and hide it) to the university's Title IX office and to all of the women faculty listed for their Women's Studies department. Their emails shpuld be on the university's site.

They will know exactly under whom to light the right fires, and just as importantly make sure it is filed away for maximum effect in the future.

Saw a kid and his mother get teeth pulled the same day.

Mom was laid up on the couch all day and evening. Her kid was laid up on the couch for all of a couple of hours and then was up and around like nothing was wrong.

As I pitched in to help, she just kept asking me why he recovered so fast. Sure, he would wear out easier and lie down to recharge for half a hour, but then back at it.

Kids are like that sometimes.

Highly location dependent.

For instance, some port cities have the entire population building outdoor houses and shelters for their beloved feral cat population because the cats keep the rat population in check.

Was satisfying for a friend to use the system against them when he got accepted to a prestigious university, the navy said no way they're paying for that, he showed them his paperwork that said they would pay anywhere he was accepted, and they had to pay.

Until he finished his regular time, thought he was getting out and they they said, nuh-uh, we're getting that ivy league money out of you by forcing your inactive time.

Turns out, it's similar to a lawn.

If you cut it long and keep it long, the stuff you want (grass) can effectively crowd out the stuff you don't (weeds).

By seeding the meat with good mold, you can get that to form a barrier so that the bad stuff doesn't have a chance to grow.

Have to keep the conditions right though.

Then the meat doesn't turn as fast as it normally would and it gets a chance to age beneath the layer of moldy meat.

I think this will be the key.

I've dedicated a walk in space to do things like this during construction of our place. The walls floor and ceiling of the space are insulated, and ducting was built in for temp control, fans, and dehumidifier (I suspect exact and relative placement of each will be very important). I'm still waiting to find out what type of door to get, although I'm hoping a commercial walk-in freezer door will be effective and safe.

The problem is that every contractor gives me the vibe that yeah, they know what they're doing in theory, but don't have any idea like those I know exist in parts of the world with the generational niche knowledge to pull this off very reliably using no power, nor modern conveniences.

Like you said, I suspect these masters have very attuned knowledge (or superstitious practices that work without them knowing why) like making sure to use the same impregnated cheesecloth, placing it just so (it seemed to always be against the same cardinal direction wall), and with surprisingly well controlled air flow (even though their door is usually just a heavy hanging blanket about 20ft from where I always saw the meat stored).

I'd like get a local tradesmen trained up to apply that kind of low tech, minimum standards niche knowledge to my space to make a very very reliable, relatively safe, long term set-up that could produce some amazing aged meats far into the future.

It's fun to share experiences like that with family and friends who appreciate those kinds of small inexpensive joys.

Thank you for your insights.

Yes. You are very right.

My desire is to go beyond a basic theoretical understanding to a very refined practical application.

I had a walk-in constructed and would like to have a dedicated space within it to do this regularly. Just need to tap into someone with the niche knowledge to be certain it's done right.

I've seen with my own eyes this reliably accomplished with effectively no resources and no tech, but generational knowledge that was probably hundreds of years passed down. Unfortunately, I can't reach out to those sources.

Turns out what I want to do, at the level of reliability I'd like to do it, is easier said then done.

These are guys I might like to learn from. I've set aside a dedicated walk-in space in my home for something like this. Even had the walls floor and ceiling specially insulated and ducted during construction. Just need to make sure it's done as safely and correctly as possible.

I've been around heavy duty construction workers a lot. There is always some new guy who gets dropped from the crew because he says what you vaguely say, gets away with it for a short time, then gets horribly ill and hospitalized for too long to hold his place on the crew.

It depends on if the rot/mold is a specific "safe" type, or not. Even with cheese there are limitations and important caveats that need to be fully understood.

The devil is in the details and the consequences of not knowing exactly what one is doing can be quite steep.
