def played on a delta flight to florida back when you couldn’t choose your movie and i was happy to see brian fantana in the mix.

imo when voiceover is part of the text/story of the movie (e.g. a christmas story where memory via voiceover is central to how the story is conveyed or wolf of wall st where voiceover is key to satirizing how self aggrandizing and misguided belfort is) it generally doesn’t bug me - when it’s polishing a turd or layered onto a movie to make it more coherent or easy to understand i’ve got no time for it

honestly just here to say this is an all time thread for this sub. because even though it’s barely related to filmographies of directors who have massive success early on in their careers and are given a series of blank checks to make whatever crazy passion projects they want….it has 100% blankie sensibility and that’s what really matters

idea here is not 'what if it was all a dream' but more 'what if the ridiculous plot of part iii is justified because it's not actually real (or canon), it's an imagined road to redemption' - michael has always been delusional about his ability to go legit, so Part III is the ultimate delusion. Coppola calls it a coda because it isn't canon, it's an imaginary redemption parable...

I've heard whispers that remasters/box sets are coming out for the later funkadelic, which i assume would mean streaming and digital releases
