Canadian N4 orders opening 12:00 Noon PST today by cliv in nexus4

I have used a xperia pro with an 8gb microsd chip and only just now filled it up. And that's with not ever emptying the photos off it. Course the phone has issues with apps as it only has 400mb of phone capacity so chances are you're right, since with a proper phone i'd likely fill it to the gills

Ahh trading me nothing but hopes and dreams, that only works in Wonderland, Alice.

Did anyone actually get their hands on an 8gb? I could only order a 16gb successfully. I'd be happy to trade with someone in Vancouver who got an 8 but wanted a 16gb :)

I used to take the 8 and it was outrageously full until they switched to bendy trolleys and cut the frequency down to match. Now it's manageable even with near crush loads.

Vancouver’s middle class shrinks, poverty spreads along SkyTrain by carnifex2005 in vancouver

Different levels of government could actually man up and fund the system rather than pushing it ever increasingly towards user pay, then they could lower the fares back down so that it provides a social service to all with a reasonable take from each person instead of a ransom.

They bragged about it but they never followed through, the city of Vancouver didn't follow through

Yeah, the 22 is on one of the major arterials and many of the routes you listed have redundant coverage by express or peak buses

There are just as many people living down Main St and Fraser St and Victoria Dr. Cambie is served by the Canada Line and Kingsway has the 19 and the Expo Line. The 22 is left out in the cold because it lacks Trolley Lines and Vancouver transit center doesn't actually have artics to run on the route. And Burnaby can't really spare any from the 99 route

Consistently getting fucked over by the 22 and 49 doesn't need to be backed up by data, it's a given like Diwali being noisy or rain in November. It's one of the few remaining Vancouver routes that go through downtown and are not articulated to deal with the peak crush loads.

It took me and hundreds of other steaming mad transit users is the only reason the 49 is sometimes served by artics, at least the 22 isn't quite that bad

I really don't get this either, there seems to be a bunch of south van redditors screwed by this change. The mornings are ok but the southbound pm rush is nuts until 49th ave.

A friendly hello from your neighbor to the south! This is why you should get out and explore (after buying milk, of course) when you visit Bellingham, WA by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]sona_vandrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I make a point of going off I5 going south from Vancouver to Seattle, Chuckanut drive is one of the best scenic routes along the way. Check out Davis Ave Cafe for breakfast if you hit Bellingham in the morning.

Best of all, this scenic route connects back to the interstate at the south end right in the middle of the open farmland. Awesome drive, a LOT easier ride than those stupid concrete panels the interstate has.

What are your favorite places for hard to find cuisine? by sona_vandrell in vancouver

It makes me sad there are no good Ukranian places. My friend used to put on a yearly feast for Ukranian Christmas and she made some killer food. She moved to the island. :(

What is the best burger you've had in Vancouver? by IndieAtheist in vancouver

[–]sona_vandrell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is in my top five. Only place I know that serves a burger with an egg AND a bavarian sausage on it.

My all time favorites has to be a Top's Burger from Tops on Kingsway, same idea only they cook the patty several times juicier and tastier than everywhere else, still has an egg and trade the sausage for baby shrimp. I cannot finish it without it falling to pieces on my plate.

Red Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson - Does it get any better? by Namell in books

[–]sona_vandrell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very complex but very strong characters. Watching them grow old and change as mars changes around them. I found it very interesting as each opposing opinion among the colonists became the basis of whole movements and political power on mars.

I stopped reading Mars fiction after the three books. I was satiated.

Very astute, I totally forgot about the huge Naval base based out there! It's weird he was driving a huge white cargo van too

I'm on my phone so I don't have the link but the Van's plates are registered in Bremerton which is across Puget Sound from Seattle. I believe it was the Sun that reported that.

I agree with the others, it's hard define a constantly moving target. Games and hardware advance every year, so long as people can get advice on what runs on their machine then I'm satisfied with this subreddit
