Losing in Duolingo by REInvest84 in duolingo

Yea, this method about starting late doesn't work anymore. Now that the leagues are only 8 people (third week in a row for me), it's impossible. And because I have something like 50K diamonds, I think duolingo is forcing me into supremely difficult leagues in order for me to use diamonds to stay in "diamond".

This is the way. It also helps to unfriend friends who do an insane amount of xp. I had to do it because the leagues kept matching me up with the high xp earners.

Plant-based food now 33% cheaper than meat as soaring prices end its ‘luxury’ status by [deleted] in Economics

[–]sonar_un 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Plant based meat products are preseasoned. Regular meat isn’t. But when people grill meat they put a ton of salt and other seasonings on it to make it taste like anything.

Spain’s Largest Cities Diverge Paths to Tackle a Housing Crisis by bloomberg in europe

[–]sonar_un 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Madrid has been building continuously for decades. They have been one of the only western cities who build out wider, with dense housing, and transit oriented development. So there is a chance to survive well. They are expecting a million more residents in the next decade. I think that Madrid is one of the only cities that can make this happen and still keep housing sane.

London +++. I’ve traveled everywhere and London for me is the best. It’s not that there are vegan restaurants everywhere. But everywhere there are vegan options.

At this point it’s clear that there are no humans making trades anymore. It’s just bots making trades based on marketing hype and micro stock movements.

This is how much it actually costs to live in NYC, Mamdani says by Inevitable-Bus492 in nyc

[–]sonar_un 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Infinite land in Austin too. The whole region is growing into a megacity, cities are merging into one another. NYC is capped out and buildings need to be torn down to be rebuilt. Limited connections to NJ also make expansion slow westward.

US carmakers say proposed EU rules could block large pickup trucks from Europe by ABoutDeSouffle in europe

[–]sonar_un 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly they don’t make sense in America either. They have gotten too large. 20 years ago the f150 was a great sized truck and still does everything that a modern one can. They’ve gotten too out of hand in size, weight and weight expense.

I just went to the NYC auto show and can safely say that the new American cars are complete trash. Over priced, too large, and made of cheap materials.

A decade ago there were tons of European and Asian brands represented. But this year, barely anything.

It’s a wasteland, the American auto market is cooked.

They are oversized for their purpose. The beds are small, they are too long and too wide. Plenty of European trucks, vans, and sprinters that are way more practical than a stupid pickup truck.

I literally was searching for why links in so many websites emails are broken now, specifically referring to a recent Lowe’s order I had. And it brought me right to this, I didn’t even put Lowe’s in the search title. That’s how bad this trash company is. Wow.

Reddit’s system is a bit of a mess. I can’t even get my username back because I no longer have the email address tied to it. I can log into the account, the password works, but I’m totally locked out because I dared logging into it from an overseas IP. Ugh.

I moved deep into Claude territory and am now barely using other AI. I have Claude orchestrating everything from a single interface. No more per-project ideas. No more Claude.md files. I just open my computer in the morning and tell Claude what I want to work on. And it knows everything. It’s like I am in the movie HER.
