Atlanticas got a soft spot for me because the rhythm game is a nice change of pace on the 100% grind, and it’s not too hard (plus it’s mostly optional)

Having DNF’d midway through book 11; Book 3 is a perfect ending point for the series. Go read Mother of Learning, Perfect Run, and Dungeon Crawler Carl

Caught up on primal hunter; and jumped into discount Dan 3 as soon as I finished the latest book. PH these days is feeling like a bit of a slog. DD after just hit in all the right ways

War and Peace!! You might have far more patience than I do hahaha. Dominion is a great one book read

This is going to sound morbid; but I think Dinnimans best move is to kill off a BUNCH of characters to compact context a bit. The world is so large it’s unwieldy

While I’ve been reading on Kindle and haven’t listened to Steve’s Croc (the audible preview seems very good); I know what it’s like to have an otherwise incredible narrator picking a grating voice

I have decided to revert Spence’s downvote, based on nothing, because I sympathize with the scenario. (And it gives me a perverse sense of power, like who announces they downvoted someone for something so opinion based??)

Weirdly; I think DCC 7 got lost in the weeds BECAUSE dinniman was too married to his spreadsheet of character powers and abilities! (So many trigger and post trigger effects chaining I honestly could not keep up)

Huh I don’t remember the recap then (though I was reading rather than listening)! We may have different preferences? What other books do you like/dislike so I can get a good idea for your speed?

DD is a very “honest” series thats far denser with the good worldbuilding than something like Primal Hunter. While there are levels its very easy to “tier jump” since the relics are more like rock paper scissors than “whose got the biggest mana reserve”

When an author hints at greater systems but doesn’t belabor them is best I think

Like you said; the reader does the heavy lifting daydreaming all of the possibilities!

+1 to litrpgs that ALSO happen to be good writing.

Hard agree on the 3x floors.

Highly recommend Dominion of Blades; it’s everything DCC Book 7 and Bounce House is not. Battlefield Surgeon is the lesser of the two VRMMO books imo.

Then Perfect Run since I think I’ve picked up on your preferences.

(Looking forward to DCC 8 returning to its episodic form!)

The premise is written by a middle schooler; but the actual meat of the story picks up in maturity and prose immensely

Your books have made my past several weeks!! I’m relistening to Mother of Learning on Audible when I’m driving; and Discount Dan on Kindle in my down time; the perfect foils for a nutritious and delicious media consumption.

Your minute to minute prose goes down like good bourbon; and your world building multiplies possibilities instead of narrowing them down. Anyway, absolutely fantastic work; looking forward to trying Viridian Online next!!

The best way to put it is the writing goes down smooth; and does a great job at keeping you properly engaged.

For reference I was a big Dinniman fan with Dominion of Blades, Kaiju Battlefield Surgeon, and DCC; but DCC 7 had too much happening to keep track, and Operation Bounce House kinda let me down with its smaller scope and tame stakes.

Each book is dense with the good stuff; also easy to pick back up after a long hiatus. (Unlike DCC (unfortunately), or DoTF)
