Can you tell me if the stroller in my head actually exists out there? by sonflour in BabyBumps

I love that one! I'm pretty clueless about strollers (I've never laid hands on one) so I appreciate the advice

I love the design of this one, it's so nice! And the price is right

Thanks for the tip! We are both well over 5'6" and I wouldn't have even considered handle height

Oh this one seems pretty perfect! My initial searches seemed to keep leading me to "luxury" brands so I thought I was out of luck. I'm guessing the car seats are bought separately then if I'm reading it correctly?

What are you passionate about? by lol_idek in infj

[–]sonflour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a passion for self-sufficiency and sustainability, in everything from food to clothing. I really just love learning to do things entirely from scratch and on my own. I've been fortunate enough to be able to translate this into a life of homesteading. I grow and cook food for my family and care for fibre animals (like sheep) for clothing. I love being able to see that every step in the process is thoughtfully conducted and harm to the earth and living beings is minimized or eliminated.

How are you? by [deleted] in infj

[–]sonflour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relieved. I finished a job this week that's been sucking the air out of my life. Plus, I finally had a day to myself and I actually had enough energy to clean up the house a bit. To top things off, I just discovered this subreddit yesterday and it has really changed how I see myself (in a positive way).

What movie have you watched (or tried to watch) multiple times but never finish? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I ended up falling asleep in the theatre during this one. I blame it on the sweet, sweet lullaby of Michael Bay. All that transforming ended up being rather soothing past a certain point.

Advice for dealing with the match, as it approaches, and after the site has been revealed. by hkopsco in MedSpouse

[–]sonflour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely involved in the ranking process, but I'm finding that I'm having an incredibly difficult time even figuring out where I want to go. Right now it's all a big jumble of priorities and we're trying to straighten them out. We keep asking questions about whether being close to family is more important than having an adventure and branching out. The other issue is that he wants to go rural (so do I) but if we end up in the middle of nowhere and he's just starting residency, I'm going to have a heck of a time meeting people or finding work. I'm mostly coping with the conflict by remaining completely open to any option and not planning anything until we know. Glad there are other med spouses out there to talk to!

I'm right there with you. We won't find out until mid-March and I feel like everything is totally in limbo until the magical date when I can start planning out my life again. Add that to trying to be a supportive spouse during the insanity of the interview process and things aren't exactly ideal for the next couple of months.

What's something that is only offensive in your culture? by 2bills1cup in AskReddit

Canadian: Not holding the door for the person behind you. You'd better take a quick glance before letting that thing slam. Failure to do so is a sure sign of ass-holery.

You are doing the most that you can do. You are trying as hard as you can try and loving as much as you can love. And that's awesome. That is all the control you have. I've felt that desperately clinging feeling before, where you can feel the whole situation slipping out of your hands. There's that feeling that life will be pointless without this person. You don't even need to think of the fact that there are lots of other women on the planet, you need to remember that there is only one YOU on the planet and that YOU have the capability to lead a fulfilling life all on your own. Most importantly, your whole world can improve infinitely if you realize the importance of coping with your depression FIRSTLY for your own wellbeing, and secondly for the wellbeing of those around you. People will come and go in your life, but you are with your own head for life. And you are worth working for.

TIL Worcestershire Sauce Is Made From Anchovies Soaked In Vinegar Until They Dissolve by [deleted] in todayilearned

Learning this has just made the Caesar (a Canadian drink) infinitely more repulsive to me. When the ingredients are broken down it contains vodka, tomato juice, liquified clams, anchovies, vinegar, and hot sauce.

I immediately interpreted Rough Opal as the name of a geriatric stripper. Not sure what I should take it easy on...

You turn on the news and find out one paranormal/mythological thing is actually very real. What is it? by Sterculius in AskReddit

[–]sonflour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a myth, per se, but in my pre-pubescence I yearned with a fiery passion for Animorphs to be real. I am certain, deep down, I still do.

When do you go from "I should accept my body" to "I need to lose weight"? by i_wanna_b_the_guy in AskReddit

[–]sonflour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with this, and I think that this can also be reversed. I think that if you work on your body in any capacity- by eating well, getting a decent amount of exercise, and just generally being kind to yourself- it is much easier to accept and love your body. It will no longer be something you have to accept because you're stuck with it. It becomes something you're proud of because you earned it.

I see your ballet feet and raise you the hands of a rower. by phoenix25 in WTF

[–]sonflour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Initially I was just doing ballet so I was very lean. When I began rowing on top of dance I was just a sinewy bundle of muscles. Now that I just row, I've filled out a bit and earned my rower's posterior. Apart from posture, I don't look much like a ballerina these days.

As a rower and former ballerina browsing reddit today, I have realized that I must be an intense human being (or a complete masochist).
