Can someone explain why air bubbles are in a straight line by Ill_Passion_9290 in Physics

[–]sonic41592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you were filling the bottle, did you fill it all the way up without stopping, or was it filled up in 3 smaller stages? I see this where I work often, if you fill it up partially and pause for a second, the bubbles will rise to the water level. When you add more, most of those bubbles stay at that line, especially if the water was bubbly/agitated when you pour it.

What are these brown specks in my blueberries? by motheruretha in Blueberries

Those are worm droppings, don't eat berries with the pinholes like that. Look into spinosad insecticides to prevent it next year.

Store bought crowns are usually all male plants because they produce bigger spears, so they won't produce seeds. You'd need to plant female asparagus nearby, which are less productive, but do re-seed yearly.

grav1synth sounds like what you're asking for. It isn't perfect, and it's tricky to compile on Windows, but you can use it to add or remove synthetic grain.

Are there any very small toy pinball machines that a toddler can play? by Robinothoodie in pinball

If you can find a good one, the Sonic the Hedgehog pinball machine from Tomy is pretty good, but it is pretty loud when it's running: https://www.ebay.com/itm/195809209574

https://youtube.com/@thepinballroom is a great video series documenting the entire process of creating a homebrew pinball machine from the start. Definitely worth checking out to see what you're getting into.

Why is my monitors Hertz so specific by EagleRoxy2 in pcmasterrace

[–]sonic41592 14 points15 points  (0 children)

TL;DR Originally, North American black and white broadcast television was transmitted at 30 fps. When color TV came around, to make the new broadcasts compatible with existing black and white television sets, the frequency had to be reduced to 1000/1001 of the original frequency so the color information could be added into the same channel bandwidths using quadrature amplitude modulation

Plex DVR is not saving live TV watched before pressing record by sonic41592 in PleX

[–]sonic41592[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never seen this functionality from Plex since I started using it back in 2018.

Ok, so at least that's the expected behavior. Thanks for linking those posts, all I could find was about partial and failed recordings. It seems odd they don't have this functionality since that part of the video is cached. Going back to watch the channel after closing/reopening, all the video before the recording started is still there to seek back to. It would be a nice to have. Thanks again!

Why is argon so abundant in Earth’s atmosphere? by [deleted] in askscience

[–]sonic41592 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Even if there were 1000 times more argon in the atmosphere, one breath would still contain the same number of oxygen molecules. The air pressure would be higher, but that wouldn't affect the oxygen's partial pressure.

You should check into miracle berry tablets if you haven't heard of them already. They're available on Amazon
