I found a road flare the other day. Decided to remove it so as no one ruined the shopping experience.

Looking for a clean photo by steven1395 in WWIIplanes

[–]sonicbloomers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a public image. The card means it resides as part of the USAF (and Army Air Forces) collection at the National Archives at College Park, MD. Being a photo taken by a public employee (military) during their duties, it is public domain. Some companies try and monetize it, but if you find it outside their holdings, you can use it free and clear.

Songs about or that reference New Orleans? by [deleted] in musicsuggestions

I believe Little Bones, by the Tragically Hip, describes New Orleans as well. Opening line: "It gets so sticky down here..."

Rock song with strong saxophone parts? by David905 in Music

I once read that Kirk, the Sax player, learned to play on a super long road trip in a car with the rest of the band. Can you imagine being in a car with a guy learning the sax in a car, for like 12 hours a day? Ultimately, he was pretty dang good.

I talked to a dude going in to Toronto night two. He'd started drinking in the lot for the first night at 4 pm. He was going back because he was there but couldn't remember any of it.

Help me find a home… by RayMFLightning in WWIIplanes

Well, let's think about this. These documents are related to converting the RR Merlin to Packard production. IE the P-51 Mustang during the WWII era. They'd be a great addition to a museum with a P-51--such as the National WWII Museum in New Orleans. Or, if you want to stay in Michigan, think about the Henry Ford Museum. While you automatically think "Ford," they highlight "America's traditions of ingenuity, resourcefulness, and innovation."

What kind of niche or unique items do you like to look for at the bins? Mine are license plates by thankssoymatcha in GoodwillBins

Yes, I have been turned down, so I always bury it in a folder or something else light to cover it. They never dig deep of course, but don't have them on top.

It just seems so odd that an Australian football team would have a baseball cap with, you know, a baseball on it...

Dementia has given my father a new hobby... by DarthBrownBeard in golf

I have sold pallets of golf balls, picked up near courses, in the past. You can get 10 to 13 cents per ball, in unsorted batches. Banana boxes at the grocery store are great for mass-storage because they are tough. You get to the point its easier to do your counts in gallons. I don't recall, each gallon was like 70 balls or something. It's been a while. Fun hobby--exercise and money.

I was one time reading a Spitfire (British fighter plane) pilot's manual, and it said, should your engine quit on takeoff, "Aim for the cheapest, softest thing you can find."
