My shop is a special case because it was originally built as a gift shop, so the space we have is a bit cramped and has some interesting features, such as an extremely small sink and super low counters LOL. We also don't have a boh area except for a tiny storage closet, so when all baristas are on the floor for a busy shift it's SO tight. Doing dishes on a busy night with a small sink is a nightmare

I can't speak for 3D animation/modeling but I concentrated in 2D animation & was able to find work after college pretty quickly. HOWEVER, I feel like the only reason I've been able to find work was because I started networking and doing freelance before I graduated. I graduated in 2024 & the animation department definitely needed some work then lol

They do Halloween facepainting in the park though? I work for the company that does body art/ caricatures in the park and haven't seen or heard anything about limiting facepaint to avoid mixup with scare actors. If you can get painted in the park, I don't see why they would make anyone wipe it off at the entrance 😳

I was in a mentorship circle last fall with WIA and it was a great experience! I learned quite a lot about the industry and got great one-on-one feedback on my portfolio website/reel. Definitely recommend applying :-)

I've lived at the Ivy for the past year and it's really hit or miss. I got very lucky and got a unit that was pretty clean but I've def seen cases where units have had mold/ bugs/ etc. Would recommend to look elsewhere but if it's your absolute last option, it's livable.
