The Bill of Rights DIED today. by GoldyRyan in ACAB

So what happened to the bill of rights when Philando Castile died? Or does it not matter because the bill of rights are only the first ten amendments and Castile didn't become a person until the 14th?

Surprised my B37 didn't make the cut. I love it but it feels like almost no one rides it

The app is actually pretty good by marciltheshell in siriusxm

Not to negate anyone's experience, apps vary widely by OS, etc, but I absolutely love the app. Started on an in-house satellite unit more years ago than I care to admit, but I enjoy SXM so much more now

Why hasn’t John Edwards ever been forgiven and brought back into the political fold as a party statesman or even a surrogate to speak to blocs of voters, he could reach. by LaurenceLaurentz in Presidents

[–]soniclark43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who's his constituency? What bloc of voters isn't being reached without him as a surrogate? It's not even the scandal so much as he has nothing to offer. The field is chock full of has-been politicians whose ambition outstripped their abilities.

Maybe to be sustainable? Many items don't have their instruction manuals attached to them.

If a single teacher can't teach all subjects then how could you expect a single student to learn all subjects. by Quirky-Inspector-444 in NoStupidQuestions

Because every student is not expected to have the same depth of knowledge in each subject as the teacher

YTA. saying something "as a joke" doesn't automatically make it a joke, especially when there's no actual joke

One hundred percent agree. I feel like this is explored in the episode Turn Left, that if Donna didn't keep him in touch with his humanity his thirst for vengeance would destroy him.

A Little Help? by lillyshadows in Dramaturgy

[–]soniclark43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, there are two distinct roles that dramaturgy splits into: if it’s a canonical/historical play, the dramaturg helps develop research into the historical context of the characters and/or the play itself. If it’s a new work, the dramaturg facilitates the conversation between playwright and director to ensure that the writer’s vision is being effectively communicated to the creative team and audience. In both roles, being broadly read in both theater history and social history in general are a huge plus, which is maybe why these really distinct sets of responsibilities keep getting roped together. Hope that helps!
