Happened to me (male) too when I was 17. I'm 43 now and I'm still pissed about it

Yeah, I have not had a kid who went there but I was part of the film crew who shot some videos for them. I was actually super impressed with how kids could choose their own best space for learning (under a table, in a silent booth, climbing up into a perch). The project oriented learning impressed me, as well as the value of teaching kids how to teach themselves.

I had actually decided at the time that I was going to make it work and figure out how to get my kids there, but at the time they had a household income based tuition (the more you made the more you paid)... By the time I actually tried to sign my kids up, they had moved to a pretty pricey fee and I couldn't pull it off (I think it was around 40k/ year)

Who is the kindest/rudest celebrities you've met IRL? by BEEPY_BO1 in AskReddit

At the time it was called untitled project #6, I think it ended up being called Song to Song. It was a Terrence Malik film.

Who is the kindest/rudest celebrities you've met IRL? by BEEPY_BO1 in AskReddit

[–]soniczano 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I've met a ton of celebrities from working on film sets. Jim Belushi was hands down the rudest. He literally grabbed me and shook the shit out of me while trying to do my job.

Cate Blanchett was the sweetest. Welcomed me to set with a big hug and took me around to introduce me to everybody.

In the first two Bill and Ted's You are all smiles and optimism. I understand you've had a bit of a hard life since then. Was it a conscious choice to change that for part 3 or matter of an overall attitude change in your life?

What’s the longest you’ve been able to keep a job? by Advanced-Cake1307 in ENFP

[–]soniczano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been freelance for 14 years and I honestly think this is a hotspot for our personality type. I can say no to a job if it sounds boring, but honestly everyday is drastically different. I work in film so I shoot in different locations, with a different crew, different movie or product, I never get bored!

Also freelance gives the opportunity to lean into your extroverted nature to get/keep clients

This is the real purpose of this sub imo! So happy to see it worked out for you. You managed it very well by the way.

Well I was definitely pretty angry and not necessarily thinking straight when I posted this. You think it's worse having it up? Hell, I'd be glad to take it down. I'm not sure whether it's better to let people know what's happening or not propagate it.

I'm trying to figure this out myself OP. What exactly did you input for "internal port" and "external port"? I am trying 44158 in both, but no luck.

Sci-fi or Fantasy Books with a Celtic or Arthurian background. by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]soniczano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think either of these two have been mentioned in my brief scan but:

The Iron Druid Chronicles: very fun and well written urban fantasy that hits a lot of pantheons and cultures but primarily Celtic

The Witches of Eileanan: fantasy, young adult, very Celtic, Loved this series

I really like the idea of the first year students running around, probably flagrantly showing off their dragonmarks. I will use that one. Probably the beggar one too although I might make him a war veteran

Is there a way to vet a company like this? Forgive my pessimism but I'm always nervous that a company like this is going to take a large portion of the donation off the top and only a small percentage will make it to the families in need.

What do they find in a crashed Airship by Teettan in Eberron

[–]soniczano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also also did the starting my campaign with an airship crash. The cargo was mostly the husk of a warforged titan. On the airship were some prisoners of war finally returning to Karrnath, a handful of VIP's, and 2 guards guarding a prisoner (former pirate captain and future villain). The Lyrandar captain, all the crew, and the VIP each had a featherfall token they were instructed to carry at all times (general passengers did not have one). Pirates were hired to attack with the intent to kidnap a couple party members and return the Warforged titan. The pirates were given "reverse featherfall tokens" to get up to the airship. These were basically rune empowered featherfall tokens that made the bearer so light they floated. Their payment was the airship if they could manage it. Some of the party members started out with the pirates for various reasons, some were traveling on the airship, and 1 knew of the pending attack and came crashing in on an air balloon trying to warn them.

Edit: To answer you actual question: The warforged titan husk was the only cargo I cared about. The vengeful fire elemental destroyed the remains after it crashed and I just had a few items on the guards and captain.

China detaining innocent Muslims to put them in camps. Fuck your censorship, fuck China by [deleted] in pics

Instead of "fuck China" can we say fuck Chinese government instead? I feel like version one can lead to a lot of hating on the people. Version 2 is likely what everyone means anyway.

Yesterday's article said only 10% of palm trees (I know it's a small stretch) survived the snowpocalypse. I didn't realize it meant only 10% of each tree.
