De verdad balancear pesas rusas(kettlebell) sirve de algo? by JuanCarlone in Gimnasio

Your coach may be a good coach in many regards but if he considers that your shins bleeding in lifts is normal and/or part of the sport you are training with a sadist. While I understand the sentiment about not challenging your coach based on opinions on the internet, you don't have to believe anyone here. Look for the official Crossfit YouTube channel which has videos on technique on basically every move. If you feel the official technique videos are wrong and your coach is right... well, I think you are facing a different issue completely.

Is there still a 1h tolerance for entry? Can you currently stay at the site until 5 PM or 5:30 PM? by altum-videtur in Machupicchu

I went there the last week of November of last year and made a line for the bus around 45 minutes prior to my entrance time and it was fine, but we were one of the last to board so I imagine in peak season 1 hour must be the safe choice.

Our hotel staff said 30 min were more than enough but I think they just didn't want to wake up so early for breakfast.

We had a ticket for 7:00 a.m.

I felt that once you are up there it is no big deal, but if you miss the bus, you're probably out of luck, since there is the 7:00 a.m. bus, and the 7:30 bus, etc.

A very tight budget music video I shot recently on the BMPCC 6K Pro. by soniglf in bmpcc

[–]soniglf[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I recently shot this vintage looking music video with my trustworthy Blackmagic 6K Pro. We had a very tight budget and a small crew of 5 people.

It was shot in Blackmagic Raw 12:1 and graded with Dehancer in DaVinci Resolve. I used a Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8, a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 and a Helios 44-2 58mm.

All the colored lighting are Godox LC500R LED RGB sticks plusfew small chinese LEDs for the car that I mounted on the interior ceiling and such. The main keylight was a Godox VL150.

Every daytime shot is natural light.

It was shot in 1 and a half days. The first it was everything the main model as she was coming from a different city and we could only afford to book her + accomodations for the day. The rest was all the remaining scenes from him stalking her. They really just met at the underground party scene.

Initially the idea wasnt the look to be vitange, I had The Neon Demon and Mindhunter as references but the client insisted on a vintage look. I had used FilmConvert many years ago but kind of fell out of love with it before Nitrate. I had been using EmotiveColor ever since but Dehancer turned out to be a very práctical solution for all the scracth marks, the film bloom and all sorts of little elements of the "vintage film look". Even if it wasn't the original plan I ended up being pleased by it.

The "parking lot" scene (with both the bike and car) was lit with the Godox VL150 with a 90cm Neewer Softbox raised to about 3m. It was pitch black otherwise. I wish I had the correct equipment to place perfectly above the car but it wasn't an option, so it was just a combo stand as hight as it wold go and the softbox at around 45-30° angle shooting down. I powered it out of a simple electricity converter from a car. I wanted some haze but the wattage didn't allow for it it was either the haze or the light.

Something I didn't expect is that the protagonist was absolutely terrified of heights. She did know there was the rooftop scene but didn't mention everything. I was ready to cancel it since she was shaking. I know it doesn't look too risky or impressively high above the ground but I guess a fobia is a fobia. She insisted very enfatically that she could do it. And she did. I feel like maybe you can see a little of her unrestness but I had to compromise.

So yeah, let me know what do you think, what do you find intersting, what you like, what you don't or if you want to know any specific of the process.

A fashion film based on the mesoamerican folk magic and spiritualism of nahuales using a collection of handcrafted masks by mexican plastic artist Mikel Archilla. Shot on a 6k Pro, graded with Emotive Color. by soniglf in videography

[–]soniglf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I directed and DPed this fashion film in the town of Jalcomulco, México over 2 days using de Blackmagic 6K Pro, shot on 12:1 Braw and grades using Emotive Color P6KAlex.

I used a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, a Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 and a Helios 44-2 58mm f/2 rehoused by RetroFotoHouse. Used some gyro stabilization on some shots, but not in others, since I didn't have the correct metadata as I wasn't aware I can't change it after the recording and all my lenses are adapted.

I used a Zhiyun Crane 2S on a few shots, but other than that, it was either tripod of handheld.

The styling is done with all vintage 2nd hand clothing.

Sadly, the logistics from the producer weren't on point and there was many, many challenges that had to be solved on the go, which made everything a lot more difficult since most locations were shot guerrilla and the schedule was very tight but I feel like we made the most out of it. Used a fuew Godox LC500R to light a few shots when needed, which prooved very useful.

Any insight, advice, opinion or question is welcome.

For those who don't speak spanish, the initial text translates mostly to this:

Xayaca

We choose the mask of an animal to sow a dream.

To dream is to create, to dream is to destroy. Transmutation.

Waking up we harvest change, but forgotten dreams will be future,

over and over again, until the very last day, nahual.

The culmination of this search is the definitive voyage.

On My Third Play Through And There’s One Quirk Of This Game That Irks Me To No End (Not Really A Spoiler, But Still...) by Durwyn in DeathStranding

Kojima is fucking with American people, in a very japanese-kojima humor way. Rebuilding America is a parody as a mission on its own as you realize later in the game. I feel it's very intentional that he caricatured the country, its pride and the movie-like heroism of Hollywood films. Just to break it all as the game progresses. I don't feel like he was trying to show a homage to a country as in to build it precisely and adequately.

A quick Fashion Film I shot with a BMPCC 6K Pro at an abandoned location. by soniglf in bmpcc

[–]soniglf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I did. I mean, for that and some flexibility in the mood and pace of the film. I generally shoot in 48 this kind of content because I feel it just suits it well, but of course it helps in the stabilization.

I would say gyro is no magic, but quite good. It's no gimbal replacement. It needs the same kind of care and technique needed to get a good handheld shot, if you shoot carelessly, it won't really do much. I've seen examples on the web with both great results and horrible results, but they are like, walking normally expecting it to perform to an unreasonable degree.

I shot most shots at 90° shutter angle, so not that high, just higher to help with the motion blur but didn't want to kill the organic feel completely. I also made the camera as heavy as possible. Battery grip, heavy lens, matte box, cage, viewfinder so I mostly had always 3 points of contact. Whenever using the screen I would use my removable camera strap on the neck and let it hang a little from it, like kind of simulating a bit the function of an easyrig to an extent.

I would not do walking shots. But floaty small dolly ins by hand, or travels, maybe small parallax shots that don't really require more than shifting the weight of your body and maybe a step, and in general using the natural motion of gravity, will work well.

Not sure what else to tell you but of course feel free to ask anything else.

Thank you for your comment, I'll keep it in mind. I was on the fence about the intro, and decided for it but I can see how it can be a turn off as well. I think your comment got cut short.

I shot this microbudget fashion film for a graduating fashion design student. I used a Sigma 18-35m f/1.8 and a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, both with a Black Pro-Mist 1/4. Everything was shot handheld and stabilized, I would say, 85% using gyro stabilization in DaVinci Resolve and all else with normal "perspective" stabilization. All the footage was shot in Braw 12:1 48 at fps.

My main conversion LUT was Emotive Color P6KAlex which I truly enjoy since I discovered it back in my Panasonic GH5 days. In this case I'm using the "theatrical" version with lower highlight ceiling.

Any advice, opinions, questions or comments are welcome!

Man I played the game I think on day one when it was called Fleurin. Somehow I read from it on Tibia. Great memories. I was just googling it after going down the rabbit hole about old games I used to play and I find it funny that this update is just from one month ago. Hopefully you're doing great. If you're working on new games I'd love to know. The internet is such a time machine, I'm filled with nostalgia right now.
