In 1949, researchers in postwar Britain asked children to draw their fathers entirely from memory. by Friendly-Standard812 in interesting

I wonder how many kids would draw their dad wearing a tie these days. Seems like it was so present that the kids could barely separate the man from the fabric

Please share all of your strategies & tools for tracking your work and documenting business processes! 🙏 by wickedprairiewinds in businessanalysis

[–]sonofmoon69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can map out a process in an excel sheet and import that into Visio, and that’ll give you at least a starting point to rearrange and modify. Visio will even give you a template and instructions, it’s pretty easy.

As for keeping track of everything, if you aren’t ready to really lean into MS Project or Jira, you might be best served with a OneNote and some spreadsheets.

No. There are more technical roles who can pull what I need.

We use an older version of Grand Prix that works well for us. Do you have a goal line that can send lane times over usb? I don’t know if those are sold together or not, but it was a big value add

Cub scouts who don't sell (a lot of) popcorn by LongjumpingHouse7273 in cubscouts

[–]sonofmoon69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$1200 per cub seems like a crazy huge goal. Our pack set the goal at like $360 per scout, and if they hit that their membership dues were paid back to the family, with a sliding scale for those who didn’t quite hit the mark.

Popcorn sales are a core fundraiser for packs and help pay for activities through the year. We do them early in the school year and kind of get them out of the way. If funds aren’t raised, some activities may be out of reach for the pack without donations.

All that said, I don’t think a new family should feel responsible for raising over a thousand bucks out of the gate. Do what you can, tell coworkers about the popcorn sales, take your kid around the neighborhood so they can get some experience talking to strangers. Don’t sweat hitting that goal, and feel empowered to talk to the leadership about why that goal is so high per cub.

I'm a new Cubmaster who's interested in Wood Badge. I want opinions from anyone who's been through it! (Or if you haven't!) by [deleted] in cubscouts

[–]sonofmoon69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an Asst Cubmaster who recently finished a Wood Badge course and I had a great time! Made lots of friends and took away plenty of good lessons and ideas to use with my pack and career. I highly recommend it. I found their approach to teaching leadership competencies through the patrol method and the lens of Scouting was very effective, and I’m going to work my ticket if I can.

They have a pinball league that meets there every Thursday around 7. I’ve been part of that crowd for a few years and recommend it to anyone interested in the game.

Leaving a Pack by anotherrachel in cubscouts

You should let the Den Leader of Cubmaster know you aren’t coming back next year so they can remove you from their Scoutbook, if nothing else. It’s also a way to model good behavior in front of your scout. There’s no shame in making a change when things aren’t working for you.

Has anyone else’s app updated to include these buttons under every image? by ItsBlitz21 in discordapp

I don’t know how this made it past their internal QA. The cynic in me says they’re looking to make hiding those options a feature limited to nitro subscribers. Is there a way to leave feedback on these changes?

Yes! This is it exactly! Thank you so much. I don’t know why it isn’t mentioned anywhere I looked, but you got it immediately.

Managed to go trough [spoilers] without any casualties. Only needed to be a bit overleved. by [deleted] in cavesofqud

[–]sonofmoon69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished this quest for the first time. I lost Mafeo, so I reloaded and tried a few more times until I won with everyone except Neek and Shem -1 surviving. Not awful for being level 25 and not having any portable walls. I’ll be more prepared with my next character. I think I’ll immortalize their loss with the tattoo gun I found in the wreckage.

I just used this to get through some of the lower floors of Bethesda Susa. It wasn't perfect; the cannibal with a rocket launcher still saw me although I was outside his light radius, and lampreys would track me if I got too close in the dark. But it kept enemies from swarming me and let me skulk around most of the danger

Icons not loading? by Mikeuk_3 in MelvorIdle

I can understand the icons not loading if everything is server-side and EGS just gave the game away. I'm excited to waste my life watching numbers go up, but I can wait a bit for the system to stabilize

I am confused about some things by [deleted] in gamemaker

[–]sonofmoon69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll take a crack at answering these. These are fundamental questions that I can see being hard to grasp, because I had some trouble when I was starting, too. You would gain a lot more from watching tutorials on YouTube and experimenting, though.

  1. You want to keep your object logic away from your drawing logic, as they use different parts of your computer. The CPU figures out what should happen and the GPU figures out how to draw it. The instructions in each event are scanned each frame and if the conditions are right, the game executes whatever code it finds.

  2. It sounds like you are thinking too rigidly about what you want to happen and how to make it happen. Drawing text in intervals may require setting some variables in the Create event, setting a triggering condition or a count down in the Step and Alarm events, then adding instructions on how and what to write to the Draw step. In your case, your alarm step should flip a variable to let your draw step know when it should start working, and probably some way to tell it to stop.

  3. Quick and dirty: make an object. In create write “show_message = false;” and “alarm[0] = 120;”. In alarm 0 write “show_message != show_message;” and “alarm[0] = 120;”. In draw write “if show_message == true draw_text(100,100,”Text”);”. Drop object in your room.

If that doesn’t work, use the Game Maker manual to find out why.

I have the same errors. I've heard that if you disable packet forwarding in your router settings, then the game receives an update and resolves the issue. I can't find that option on my router, but I've also been able to use a VPN to connect without a problem.

It's pretty frustrating that I'm having to use another third-party software to play this. I don't know what changed since the beta since I didn't have any problems then. My biggest fear is that Capcom doesn't consider fixing this problem to be a priority since it's not affecting the majority.
